My newly built desktop is having a problem with the wifi adapter. I have already sent the motherboard to MSI to get fixed and they sent me a new one and i still have the same issue so i know its not that and with that out of the way.
I have already tried the uninstall and reboot. Then re install. Ive also tried doing all of that from device manager as well. I've disabled all antivirus and firewalls when doing so as well.
What the adapter displays in the properties is code 37 windows will not initialize. And in the event section it also states netwaw18 device not started. It does say that windows has determined that the device has the best driver for the adapter so im not sure what the issue is and why my wifi wont work.
Has anyone found a fix for this yet?

Hello ClusterFck7,
Thank you for posting in Intel Communities.
I would like to know more about your system details to fully understand where the issue truly lies. Please provide the missing key information here:
1) Is the Intel® Killer™ Wi-Fi 7 BE1750x pre-built on your system or was it separately purchased add-component installed on your
2) Since you mentioned that this is a newly built desktop system, is this an out-of-the box issue, or did it initially work before it got this error code (37)?
3) If previously worked, what were the changes made prior to the issue?
4) What steps were taken to troubleshoot this issue?
5) Are there any pending Windows Update(s)?
Additionally, kindly share your system configuration so I can fully check and provide you with an accurate fix. This could be possible by downloading the Intel® System Support Utility for Windows* software. When the download is complete, launch SSU.exe.
- Scan: Check the box Everything.
- Click Scan.
- Review: When finished scanning, click Next.
- Click Save. *Attach the SSU log file as you reply.
Looking forward to your reply.
Best regards,
JeanetteC.

Hello Jeannette,
Thank you for your prompt response!
1.) Yes. The ' Killer Wi-Fi 7 BE1750x ' is a prebuilt component to the MSI MAG B860 Tomahawk Wi-Fi Motherboard. I will also add; if this is any type of progressive information, that the driver package for the LAN/NETWORK from the MSI website did not help at all when it came to the update of the network adapter. In-fact i had to download ' Driver Identifier ' to help me locate up to date drivers. I was able to find the ' Killer E5000B 5 gigabit Ethernet Controller driver ' which allowed the Ethernet to work and to reiterate the killer wifi is said to have the best driver for the adapter it just wont initialize. CODE 37.
2.) Yes. This has been an issue since day one, it has never worked. I had to use my laptop and a portable hard drive to get all the working drivers onto the desktop.
-
3.) N/A
4.) To troubleshoot this issue I have done as follows:
a) Removed Bluetooth, wi-fi adapter, Ethernet controller, Un-installed killer - Rebooted the PC - Re-Installed
- I Did it once from the control panel - uninstall apps, and twice from the device manager.
b) Removed fire wall - Removed anti-virus - Rebooted computer - Proceeded with step " a) "
c) Clean install of windows - Cleaned the computer - Rebooted - Re-Installed everything - up dated all drivers.
d) Reached out to MSI sent the motherboard in to be fixed, they replaced it and still the same issue.
5.) All windows updates have been completed, all drivers have been updated using both intel driver support assistant and driver identifier.
The only thing that i find strange is on the report it shows the the killer performance suite needs to be downloaded i put it to download but there's an error and it doesn't complete. However in the device and drivers section it shows the killer Wi-Fi has a green checkmark (doesn't work), the killer E5000B ethernet needs to be downloaded(but that's the device that works already) and the intel killer performance suite under intel software has a green check mark and is already on the system via Microsoft store download that's the only way you can get it.
6.) Attached is the computer System scan, as well as the driver identifier scan.
Thank you very kindly for the support going forward!

Hello ClusterFck7,
Thank you for providing such detailed information about your Killer Wi-Fi 7 BE1750x adapter issue. I can see you've done extensive troubleshooting, including working with MSI to replace the motherboard, which shows this is indeed a persistent driver/software issue rather than hardware failure.
I've checked the SSU log file and found that your BIOS firmware is outdated. Please proceed with the following steps below:
1) Contact your motherboard manufacturer support team to get help with this critical update for now. The latest BIOS firmware listed on their download site is version 7E39v1B60 (dated 2025-08-08).
2) Then proceed with the steps from this link.
Let me know how it goes.
Best regards,
JeanetteC.

Good afternoon Jeanette,
As per the updating of the BIOS - that's something i didn't mention before. I have updated it before and it was removed when i did the re-installation of windows, plus a sweep of the computer and I still had the same issues. As it stands right now I updated the BIOS. The good news is: on the ' Intel Driver and Support assistant ' page it now has a green checkmark beside both the ethernet and Wi-Fi and down below beside the intel software killer performance suite. However upon un-install and re-installing the KPS plus killer app its having trouble re-installing the killer app (Microsoft store) stating a problem with the drive format which is strange.
So back to the issues:
1.) Wi-Fi still does not work and still exemplifies a code 37: windows cannot initialize. despite having the best driver for the device.
2.) Killer Performance App does not want to re-install (which is not that big an issue considering its just an app that lets me know the usage and etc. My main issue is getting the wi-fi fixed so that i don't have to be plugged in by the route.
Please let me know if there is anything else i can do.
Thank you for the help.

Hello ClusterFck7,
Based on your latest SSU log:
✓ BIOS firmware is updated correctly
✗ Current Wi-Fi driver (23.160.0.4) is incompatible with your Intel® Killer™ Wi-Fi 7 BE1750x
You need the Intel® Killer™ Performance Suite for proper driver and software installation. Please follow these steps:
- First try: [Intel® Killer™ Performance Driver Suite UWD Installation Error link]
- If that fails: [How to Perform a Clean Installation link]
If installation still fails, please send a screenshot of the error message.
Looking forward to your update.
Best regards,
JeanetteC.

That is something I've tried and done already, as of right now I've downloaded back the original driver thats on the msi support page.
All the updates for drivers are done and still no avail with the killer wifi 7.
Please let me know if there is anything else I can do to fix. Thank you.

Hello ClusterFck7,
Thank you for confirming you've tried those steps and installed the original MSI driver with all current updates. Since the Killer WiFi 7 issue persists, I'll investigate further and look into alternative solutions beyond the standard driver troubleshooting. I'll get back to you with additional steps once I have them ready.
In the meantime, please keep me posted if anything changes.
Best regards,
JeanetteC.
