Problems with the adapter Intel 6E ax211 160Mhz

After using the driver update app (Intel driver support), Wi-Fi6 stops working reliably. When connecting to a 5Ghz Wi-Fi6 network, the internet initially works, then the Wi-Fi control panel displays "connected" but no network access, and then the laptop simply disconnects the network. Also, when I see the "connected" message but no network access, when I try to ping the router, packets don't get through. The problem resolves when I roll back the drivers to the ones I had before updating through Intel support. With the older driver version, 5Ghz Wi-Fi6 works reliably.

  • Are you using a laptop or a desktop? Please provide the exact make and model.
  • Is the issue only isolated to 5G band and doesn't affect 2.4GHz at all?
  • What specific older version able to work on your device?
  • Can you try connecting to a mobile hotspot and see the difference?

I am using MSI Thin 15 B12UC-1884XUA (i5-12500h+RTX3050 laptop), The problem only occurred at 5 GHz; at 2.4 GHz, Wi-Fi 6 works normally and the router pings. At the moment, if you go to "Device Manager->Network Adapters" there is a date of 06/03/2024, and the version is 23.60.1.2 I tried sharing a Wi-Fi 6 hotspot from my phone, and the problem was the same. First, it takes a long time to connect, and then it connects, but doesn't work. When I try to ping the gateway, no packets are sent. The distance from the access point to the laptop is approximately 3-4 meters

The Windows 11 system version has the latest updates; the problem only arose after updating the drivers using the utility.

Hello TheSasiska,

Thanks for your response! Since you mentioned you're using OEM WiFi driver version 23.60.1.2 and it seems to be working fine on your system, we'd recommend sticking with this OEM version to avoid any problems.

OEM drivers are usually more reliable because they're created specifically for your exact laptop model with all its particular hardware components and specifications in mind. The manufacturer takes the time to customize and test these drivers to work perfectly with your system, unlike the generic Intel drivers that are designed to work on many different types of computers and laptops, which means they might not be as perfectly tuned for your specific setup.

Let me know if you have any other questions or concerns, please do not hesitate!
