Replace Intel Wireless AC 9560

We will soon upgrade our ISP modem to Wi-Fi 6E capability, so I'd like to upgrade the Wi-Fi card on our Dell Inspiron15 5591 laptop to take advantage.

I understand that the 9560 AC card/CPU/MB combo is limited to CNVio interface, and finding a 6E CNVio card is difficult.

I am considering using a Wi-Fi card whose interface is PCIe (not CNVio2) -- like the Intel AX210 or BE200.

Will this be feasible?  Or is it going to be trial-and-error?

Hello KenOhrn,

Thank you for posting in Intel Communities.

With regards to your upgrade questions, keep in mind that you are trying to complete a wireless integration and it is better to validate compatibility with the system manufacturer. Please also take note that CNVio and CNVio2 are incompatible, where Intel® Wireless-AC 9560 supports CNVio whilst both Intel® Wi-Fi 6E: AX411 and AX211 support CNVio2. Before attempting to upgrade your wireless card, we highly recommend contacting your system manufacturer for guidance. They can provide you with information on your system specifications, what wireless card it supports, and what upgrade options are available and compatible. Some wireless cards may be soldered to the motherboard, which means they cannot be replaced or upgraded.

We'll wait for your reply.

Best regards,
