ThinkPad T16 Gen 2 Intel AX211, Intel® Connectivity Performance Suite (ICPS) "No .. hardware ..."

The Release Notes for Intel Connectivity Performance Suite says that it should work with the AX211 WiFi hardware, which is built-in to my ThinkPad T16 Gen 2. However, even after installing the Intel Connectivity Performance Suite Driver, any attempt to install the actual Intel Connectivity Performance Suite produces the error:

"No Intel Connectivity Performance Suite hardware was detected."

The Intel SSU tool shows the AX211 WiFi hardware.

I'd like to try the Connectivity Performance Suite's feature of constantly monitoring available WiFi access points and automatically reconnecting among them to get the best signal, because in at least three places where I routinely use this ThinkPad there are two or three WiFi APs which may be in-range at one time, but which depending on my physical proximity to one or another a switch may produce meaningfully between wireless networking experience.

How do I get the Connectivity Performance Suite software to install and to operate on the AX211 WiFi hardware in my ThinkPad T16 Gen 2?

thank you.

Hello Jay_Libove,

To further isolate the issue, can you check and share with us if your computer has an Intel® Evo™ or Intel® vPro® logo sticker, as these are requirements for using ICPS.

To further troubleshoot the issue, please perform the following steps:

  1. Update the generic wireless driver to version 23.150.0.4, as the current driver version installed is 23.130.1.1, which is an OEM driver. This will help isolate the issue.
  2. Download the Intel® Connectivity Performance Suite (ICPS) for Intel® Wireless Products and the Intel® Connectivity Manager (ICM) from our website.
  3. If the issue persists, please download the ICPS driver from Lenovo and check for any changes in the system's performance.

Finally, ensure you follow the steps outlined in our Intel® Connectivity Performance Suite System Compatibility article.

Best regards,

JeanetteC.

(I had already updated the WiFi driver to 23.150.x.x, and I had already installed the ICPS Driver).

I re-checked the original order. It is explicitly non-vPro. (A mistake I will not repeat with future system orders).

It's a shame that such a useful feature as active best-WiFi re-selection should be limited to only vPro/Evo systems.

Thanks anyway.

Hello Jay_Libove,

Thanks for letting me know. I understand your frustration about the feature limitations. It's good that you've updated the Wi-Fi driver and installed the ICPS Driver. Learning from this will definitely help with future orders. If you have any more questions or need help, don't hesitate to reach out.

I will go ahead and close this thread. If you require help in the future, please submit a new inquiry, as this thread will no longer be monitored.

Sincerely,

JeanetteC.
