[URGENT ISSUE] Intel Wireless NIC stopped working with 5GHz band 3 channels & channel 165 randomly

Hi Intel,

In this post, I'm going to escalate an issue of Intel NIC, which tested with BE200, AX203, AX210 all encountered this issue.

Environmenet setup:

1. Laptop OS: All with latest windows 11 version, BE200, AX201, AX210

2. All the wireless card with the latest driver which just released updated in April.

3. Use both system WiFi list and sniffer application - INSSIDER to do WiFi scan

Symptom:

The wireless network card randomly lost the compability with 5GHz channel from 100 to 144, and channel 165, the laptop can no longer detect the SSID broadcast in these channels when the issue occurs. Disabled the NIC and re-enable sometimes help recover the service, but most time not works.

The issue might due to some wireless interference issue caused the network card behavior block these channels but I can't not fully figure out the root cause.

Normal condition:

When issue occurs:

What I have done:

1. Capture wireless frame, and the beacon were brodcast noramlly in these reported channels.

2. iPhone and MacOS can see the SSID located in these channels normally, only Intel wireless NIC with this issue.

3. Upon checking the beacon frame in the issue environment, there is no non-support-channel-100-to-140 country code beacon detected.

This probably be a known issue bug,  please directly check with the RD team and relay the information to them, instead asking me to provided, collected information from your useless tool.

Thank you.

Hello LHB-tw,

Thank you for posting in Intel Communities.

I understand that this is an urgent request, however, I would like to know more about your system details to fully understand where the issue truly lies. Please help share the following:

  • What is the symptom of the issue?
  • When did it start to happen?
  • Do you remember if this issue happened after a new OS update or Wireless driver update?
  • Have tried a roll back to a previous driver version for testing?

  • What steps do you take to reproduce your issue?
  • Were you able to have wireless connection in a normal/expected performance before?
  • Have you installed any recent software or hardware in your system?

  • Is this a new computer? If so, have check with your system's OEM for validated drivers or support on known issues related to the symptoms experienced?

  • Is this a laptop or desktop system?
  • Is this the original adapter that came pre-installed in your system, or have you changed/installed a new adapter recently?

  • Is this issue happening at home, office environment or both?
  • Have you checked if this issue happens on different networks?
  • Are you able to reproduce the same issue while on hardwired connection?
  • Have you rebooted your access-point, router, modem?
  • Have you modified any WiFi adapter settings before issue appears?

I will wait for your reply.

Best regards,

JeanetteC.

Hi Intel Support,

I must admit I was a bit overwhelmed to see a list of fifteen questions directed at me — I almost wondered if I had unknowingly become part of your debugging team.

I’d more appreciate if you had already fordwarded or escalated this symptom to your RD team or let me lnow if it has been previously reported by QA internally.

Thank you.
