Which Intel wireless modem should I download for use on Windows 2008 R2 server that I am repurposing as a home computer? As a server this computer did not have any wireless facility.

Thanks!

Hello TomCobb,

If you mean to use an Intel Wireless Adapter in the Server your are re-purposing, we would like to present the following items for your consideration:

- Intel Wireless Adapters are not intended to be used in servers (only for desktops, NUCs and OEM PCs). Intel® PROSet/Wireless Software and Drivers are not available for Windows* Server versions.

- We advise you to contact the http://www.intel.com/support/oems.htm Computer Manufacturer Support in order to determine which wireless adapters are compatible/supported with the server.

- Intel manufactures Wireless adapters with PCIe x1 connectors for use in desktop boards; as well as adapters in HMC and M.2 form factors used with OEM systems.
