Hi,
Does the WiFi driver for AX2xx card for Windows (and/or Linux) support WiFi Direct over 6 GHz channels?
If not, is there any other Intel WiFi card that would support that type of connection?
Has anyone successfully connected Windows equipped with AX2xx card with another device using WiFi-Direct that operate on 6 GHz channel?
Note: My device is not a Miracast device, so I'm interested in general Direct connection.
Regards,
Greg

Hello Gr3g,
WiFi Direct Support over 6 GHz Channels:
- The Intel AX200 and AX201 cards support WiFi 6 (802.11ax) but only on the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands. They do not support WiFi Direct over 6 GHz channels as they are not WiFi 6E cards.
- For WiFi Direct over 6 GHz channels, you would need a WiFi 6E card, such as the Intel AX210 or AX211
- The Intel AX210 and AX211 are WiFi 6E cards that support the 6 GHz band. These cards would be suitable for your needs if you require WiFi Direct over 6 GHz channels
There are reports of users experiencing issues with WiFi Direct connections using AX200 cards, particularly with Miracast devices. However, these issues are often related to specific configurations or software updates rather than the hardware itself. For general WiFi Direct connections, it is essential to ensure that both devices support the same WiFi Direct standards and that the drivers are up to date.

Hold on
Thanks for the information you provided. Do you have any evidence that someone has successfully connected from Windows using AX21x card to another device over WiFi Direct 6GHz? Or even maybe using two Windows PCs with the same AX21x cards?
Is it that the only way to achieve Direct over 6GHz channels is to use Miracast? I would be more interested to utlize WiFi Direct, but not Miracast.
Regards
Greg
