Wifi driver AX201 not working

Hello, for my Wi-Fi driver I’m getting this error (windows 11):
“Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)”

I’ve tried all the suggested methods: uninstalling and reinstalling the driver, updating Windows, doing a cold reboot, and even restoring to previous updates, but none of them worked. Since the ping command works, I don’t think it’s a hardware issue. I even downloaded the driver file directly from the official website and installed it, but the problem still wasn’t resolved.

You can see all information of my system in info.txt.

Is there any solution for this, or should I just wait for a new update from Windows or Intel?

I also tried all steps of this https://community.intel.com/t5/Wireless/Wifi-driver-AX201-not-working/m-p/1377626#M41492. But didn't work.

Thanks.

Hi pbh,

Thank you for posting in our Community. Errors such as Code 43 are considered generic or temporary errors, which usually occur when Device Manager is unable to start the hardware device correctly. These messages do not always point to a hardware failure and are often caused by software, driver, BIOS, or OS-related factors. To help isolate and resolve the issue, I recommend performing the following troubleshooting steps in order, as each step builds on the previous one:

  1. OS and BIOS-Level Checks / Troubleshooting:

    • Clean Install OEM Drivers
Start by installing the wireless and Bluetooth drivers provided directly by your system manufacturer
    • Clean Install Intel® Generic Drivers
If the issue persists, perform a clean installation of Intel generic wireless drivers: Clean Installation of Wireless Drivers
    • Verify Wi-Fi Function Is Enabled
Ensure the Wi-Fi radio is turned on. If no wireless networks are detected, the Wi-Fi radio may be disabled: Quick Checks to Improve or Fix Wi-Fi Connection issue
    • Install All Available Windows Updates

      • Go to Settings > Windows Update and install all general updates

      • Check Advanced options > Optional updates for driver updates

      • Then run the Intel® Driver & Support Assistant (DSA) to ensure Intel-specific drivers are up to date

    • Perform a Cold Reboot
This helps clear residual power states that may prevent the device from initializing properly:
How to Perform Cold Reboot for Laptops and Desktops Equipped with Intel Bluetooth® or Wireless (Wi-Fi) Devices
    • Check BIOS Settings
Enter the BIOS during startup and confirm that the Bluetooth and Wireless adapters are enabled
    • Update the BIOS
If available, updating the BIOS can resolve compatibility or initialization issues.
    • Restore the System Using a Restore Point (If Available)
If the issue began recently, restoring the system to a previous working state may help. You can access System Restore through:

      • Windows search → Recovery

      • Control Panel → System and Security > Recovery

      • Or by holding Shift while selecting Restart
Detailed guidance is available here: Recovery Options in Windows

Additionally, I’d like to share our official Intel support article, which consolidates troubleshooting steps for Device Manager error codes related to Bluetooth and Wireless devices. This may be a helpful reference as you work through the process: Error Codes 10, 22, 28, 31, 43, or 45 in Device Manager for Bluetooth® or Wireless (Wi-Fi) Devices

Please let me know how it goes or if you encounter any difficulties along the way. I’m here to help and will be happy to continue assisting until this is resolved.

Have a nice day!

Thank you for your suggestion.
I’ve already tried everything — updated the BIOS, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi drivers (or reinstall them), and even restored Windows to an earlier version. I’ve been working on this for almost two days, but none of it has solved the issue. Right now, I’m not exactly sure what else to do.
If you need the logs for any of these steps, I can send them to you.
Thanks again.

Hello pbh,

Thank you for the detailed update and for the time you’ve invested in troubleshooting this issue. I appreciate your efforts in reinstalling Windows, updating BIOS and drivers, and performing the network reset steps.

At this point, I will need to do further research and validation to determine the best next steps. Once I have an update, I will post the response here in this thread.

Thank you again for your patience and cooperation.

Have a nice day!

Hello pbh,

Thank you for sharing the SSU report. Upon reviewing the information, I noticed that your system is currently running an outdated BIOS version. To help address the wireless issue, please update the BIOS to the latest available version, BIOS version 332, and then install the OEM wireless driver version 23.160.0.4 provided by ASUS. Using the OEM-recommended drivers ensures better compatibility between the system firmware and the wireless hardware. You may download the required BIOS and wireless driver from the official ASUS support page for your model here:
https://www.asus.com/us/supportonly/fx507vi/helpdesk_download/

After completing the updates, please let us know if the issue persists or if you notice any changes. We’ll be happy to continue assisting you based on the results.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Have a nice day!

Best regards,

Hello pbh,

Thank you for the update and for reattaching the logs. I appreciate you taking the time to test both options and for confirming that the issue persists, as well as for reinstalling Windows and providing the new logs.

At this point, I will need to perform further research and review the newly provided logs in more detail. Once my analysis is complete, I will post an update directly on this thread with my findings and the recommended next steps.

Have a nice day!

Hello pbh,

Thank you for sharing the SSU output and the detailed information regarding your Intel® Wi-Fi 6 AX201 adapter. Based on my investigation, I have already completed the troubleshooting steps outlined in the Intel public article for Device Manager error codes 10, 22, 28, 31, 43, or 45. Since the issue persists and your system is an MSI laptop using non-OEM proprietary drivers, the next appropriate step is to engage the OEM support team.

Why we are referring you to MSI (OEM Support):
Although the wireless adapter is Intel-branded, the system BIOS, driver packaging, and device-specific firmware are controlled by the OEM manufacturer. In your case, MSI is responsible for ensuring compatibility between the wireless adapter and your laptop platform, including any BIOS-level or firmware-level optimizations required. Additionally, OEMs can provide specialized diagnostic tools and replacement options if the issue is hardware-related.

For further assistance and to proceed with additional diagnostics or potential warranty support, please contact MSI Official Support using the link below:

MSI Support: https://www.msi.com/support

Once MSI has been contacted, they can assist with:

  • System-specific driver/BIOS updates

  • Hardware diagnostics and replacement options

  • Further troubleshooting specific to your MSI laptop configuration

Since the case requires OEM-level support and I have exhausted the available Intel troubleshooting steps, I will now proceed to close this thread. If you need further assistance, please submit a new question as this thread will no longer be monitored.

Thank you again for your cooperation. Have a nice day!

been busy

Its the same Intel Wifi adapter AX201.

I did find this though.

Does asus tuf f15 use proprietary wifi drivers ?

AI Overview

Yes, the ASUS TUF F15 primarily uses
OEM-specific (proprietary) Wi-Fi drivers provided by ASUS, designed for the specific Wi-Fi cards installed (often MediaTek MT7921 or Intel AX201/AX200).
While the hardware itself is usually from a third-party manufacturer (like Intel or MediaTek), ASUS packages customized, proprietary driver versions for their TUF gaming laptops to ensure stability and functionality.

Since your laptop uses proprietary drivers not Intel dch drivers asus support is whom you need to contact.

Intel dch drivers-Windows Declarative Componentized Hardware (DCH) supported apps and drivers are driver packages that install and run on Universal Windows Platform (UWP) based editions of Windows.
