Hi all,

I recently bought a hp probook 450 g3 and tried to install linux trisquel 7.0 on it.

The problem is that many hardware devices are UNCLAIMED.

The two most annoying ones are mirror displays and wireless connection.

So I wanted to know how to troubleshoot all this and maybe find a solution, at least for mirror displays.

Unfortunately I think I have not been clear enough:

As I said the two biggest problems are the impossibility to turn on wiFi (not wiDi) network and to mirror displays because the OS cannot find suitable drivers.

There is a third problem actually: when I want to wake computer and lift the screen part, the screen stays black even if I press the start button.

So there are three problems: can't turn on wiFi, can't mirror displays through CABLE via HDMI and VGA and can't wake up properly from suspend.

I installed ubuntu on it and these three issues are resolved without having to do anything, but if someone could help me that would be great because I prefer a million times trisquel!

Hello again!

I have checked the links but it does not resolve a lot of things.

I tried to install firmware for WIFI but it does not work.

So could it be possible to do the troubleshooting step by step, checking the logs in chronological order to try and see where the problem is?

For starters, could someone give me the order of files that are part of boot?

I DO NOT WANT WIDI.

I just want to connect my laptop to an external screen using HDMI/VGA CONNECTION.

What info is needed to see if it can work on linux?

There could be many reasons as to why you get a black screen when waking up your computer on Linux*. Unfortunately, support for this type of situation is not provided in this forum.Regarding the unclaimed display and the Internet connectivity issue, it suggests that the drivers may be missing and there is no device file.
