My Intel Centrino Wireless-N 1000 network adapter suddenly disappeared from the Device Manager list on my Windows 7 laptop. And then it's reappeared & worked & disappeared again, twice since then. Below this adapter on the Device Manager Network Adapter list there was also Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter & Adapter #2 listed as well--which has also disappeared & reappeared & disappeared again. Do you know the reason for this or if I can somehow force my system to "find" it--without internet? I've run searches & diagnosis tests & always comes up as "wireless network adapter not found". Thank you!

Let's make sure you are running the latest possible drivers.
Intel has stopped providing downloads for the (long) discontinued Wireless adapters. Luckily, I caught the notice of the driver removal and saved copies of the final packages in my archive. Use this link: https://1drv.ms/f/s!AtacZBU04mo-j-tQ34BdSDv6y1BFsg?e=7gn50T to access my archive. Subfolders provide final driver packages for most of the Discontinued Wireless adapters. In this case, you want the subfolder named Advanced-N 6200, 6230, 6250 and Wireless-N 100, 130, 1000, 1030, 2200.
If it turns out that you have the latest installed or install it and the problems don't go away, then likely the adapter is in the process of failing. If this is the case, we can discuss possible replacements.
Hope this helps,
...S
