can one install two versions of Intel oneAPI in separate directories and have both work on windows

Just that. My work is forcing the installation of Intel oneAPI 2024, and I already have 2022 installed and working with MVS 2022 (17.8.5) . They tried installation of 2024 over the weekend without my knowledge, in the same directory, and it didn't really work - the 2024 fortran compiler ifort.exe and ifx.exe were not even installed. I would like to re-install 2022 and 2024 in separate directories so I can use both. Is this possible?

Also, if Intel oneAPI 2024 is installed over 2022, do the ifort and ifx that were 2022 now the 2024 versions? Or did the installation of 2024 just get bollixed?

Here is the scenario:

First, I use Cygwin and set my environment variables as per vars.bat

Over the weekend, without my knowledge, MVS 2020 17.8.4 was upgraded to 17.8.5 and oneAPI 2024 installed over 2022. The Intel 2022 command prompts disappeared, replaced by 2024 command prompts. In the Intel directories, there are no ifort.exe and ifx.ex under 2024 directories. None of my compile and bind scripts for Intel 2022 and MVS 2022 worked.

I eventually got my 2022  scripts to work again by adding C:\Program Files (x86)\Intel\oneAPI\compiler\2022.1.0\windows\compiler\lib\intel64_win to the LIB environment variable. 

Using the environment from the Intel 2024 x64 command prompt, which executes vars.bat, I extracted the path and other environment variables, although when vars.bat executes I get this

so something is not executing with "Access is denied."

If I execute "C:\Program Files (x86)\Intel\oneAPI\compiler\2024.0\env\vars.bat" intel64 vs2022 in a separate DOS prompt the path and other environment variables (LIB etc) are different. So it seems the Intel 2024 command prompt is not executing the 2024 vars.bat

On the assumption that the ifort.exe and ifx.exe in the original 2022 directories now reference Intel 2024, upon trying to compile and bind a simple Fortran program with the environment created by the Intel 2024 command prompt  I get 

I am still playing with the environment so I can compile and bind with Intel 2024, but I don't even know if I an using the correct compilers (ifort,ifx).

So,

Is it possible to install Intel 2024 over 2022 and get both to work? When 2024 is installed over 2022, are they integrated so that the 2022 ifort and ifx are the new 2024 compilers?  Why doesn't the Intel 2024 command prompt execute the 2024 vars.bat? Was the installation just messed up? Can Intel 2022 and Intel 2024 by installed successfully in separate directories?
