In the release notes referred to at the top of the forum, it says that update 8 introduced support for E5 CPUs.

If your license hadn't expired on the date when update 8 was released, it should work. The download site normally wouldn't allow you to download an update if it isn't valid according to a license you have registered. The normal license term is 1 year, after which you would have to renew to get access to further updates.
