Is the new version of VTune support AMD?

Hi,

I installed VTune 8.0.245 on our AMD Optron-based dual core computer( Kernel: 2.6.9-34.EL.400g0030smp ). Installation went fine but it crashed the computer when I try to run VTune.

Now, I found an old message in this board saying VTune doesn't support AMD. Is this info still valid? If so, is there any plans to support AMD architecture in the future?

VTune works fine on AMD until you use some processor specific features like sampling because AMD's PMUs are quite different than in Intel processors - in this case you better use some other tools like optofile.
