Hello,

Are you trying to do Time Based Sampling on your local machine or are you using Remote Data Collection? Also, which version of VTune are you using? Do you have the most up-to-date build? The most recent version is VTune 9.1 Update 8 (build 432).

Thanks.

VTune Performance Analyzer for Linux* supports Event-based sampling only, Time-based sampling is not available for some reasons.

Time-based sampling is not available on Linux systems, only Windows* systems. Linux did not (does not?) have a timer service like on Windows.

Hi Everyone.
Thank you all for your contributions. It has justified my doubts cos I was tryng to do some manipulations, thinking I could?
Actualy my VTune version is the latest release for Linux and my machine is runing the compartible kernel versions of ubuntu.
I am grateful.
