VTune 9.0 evaluation

Hello,

I am working with the VTune 9.0 evaluation version.

I am running a sampling activity for which I selected "no application to launch" in the wizard.

I am running the activity with a duration of 300 seconds, with the CPI ratio, inst retired, bus trans burst any and mem load retired l2 miss events

When the activity finishes I get a list of many processes that were running on the system but USUALLY i dont get any listing of a processes i ran with the DOS shell command:

start .exe

USUALLY means most of the times i run the activitythere is no listing and only once or twice i got the process listed.

Any ideas why i dont get this process listed everytime?

If no samples for the process in question are not collected (perhaps because the process is very short lived), then it is likely that you will not see the process listed. Please try to lengthen the execution time of the process (experiment with various times) to see enough samples collected for the process in question and for you to be able to characterize the process.
