Hi Carlos

I am measuring to high jitter value on your PCIE server adapter.

Do you have any known issues? Is there any Errata document of this adapter or of the I210-AT?

Thanks in advance

Hi Carlos

Do you have any Errata Document for I210-AT?

Is there any known issue with this IC on the physical level?

Hi Carlos

Thanks for the latest Errata Document!

But I can't find anything related to my question about Jitter and 100Base-TX.

Did you measure the Jitter values of I210-AT on your Ethernet Server Adapter?

Can you provide me any document, where you perform IEEE compliance testing with I210-AT?

E.g. like this here: http://ww1.microchip.com/downloads/en/AppNotes/AN2686-Ethernet-Compliance-Test-10BASET-100BASETX-1000BASET.pdf http://ww1.microchip.com/downloads/en/AppNotes/AN2686-Ethernet-Compliance-Test-10BASET-100BASETX-1000BASET.pdf

Thanks

Hi Carlos,

I am measuring high jitter values also on other modules with I210-AT.

Do you have other information related to that?

Thanks Andrija

Hi Carlos,

your Server Adapter I210 and my modules with I210-AT.

Can you check, if these register setting are correct:

https://communities.intel.com/thread/125378 Ethernet Compliance Test I210-AT 10Base-T/100Ba... |Intel Communities

How do you perform your compliance tests? Do you perform any compliance tests?

Could you please answer one of this question?

Thanks Andrija

Hello, Andrija :

Thanks for your reply.

In order to be on the same page, could you please explain what you are seeing as "high jitter"? Could please let us know what are the jitter values? Could you please tell us if it is a simple test, or you are seeing usability issues?

Waiting for your answer to these questions.

Best regards,

Hi Carlos

The problem is that I can't generate a continuous MLT-3 random signal or a pattern which is continuous.

Now I am only able to generate packets with your I210-AT.

Can you please check my Register Settings and tell me what I have to change to have a continuous random MLT-3 signal? Is this possible with your I210-AT?

Thanks Andrija

Hello, Andrija:

Thanks for your reply.

In case that you are using an Intel CPU, Lanconf is available and can do IEEE transmit jitter tests. But in this case, Intel has no tools for doing this test, unfortunately.

We hope that this information may clarify your questions.

Hi Carlos

Could you please provide me the source code, only the part where you implement the IEEE tests with register settings?

So I can check and compare it with and adopt it.

Is the random MLT-3 stream continuous with your Lanconf-Tool? Can you please check that quickly?

Thanks for your help

Andrija

Hello, Andrija :

Thanks for your reply.

It is important to let you know that the jitter test runs continuously until ESC is pressed.

By the way, unfortunately, there is no code available.

Best regards,

Hi Carlos

For sure the test is running continuously.

But my question is regarding the random MLT-3 signal: Is that signal continuous or bundled in packages?

Instead of the code, do you have access to the Register Setting?

Thanks Andrija
