Intel I210 NVM configuration utility

I'm using the Intel I210 (both IT and IS versions) in an embedded system. My understanding is that there is an configuration utility for the NVM in these chips. How do I get access to this utility?

I don't work for Intel, so you'll have to get that from your Intel rep.

Hi Lynn,

I am also looking for document # 348742 in order to install firmware in our I210 network controllers. I have a privileged account. However when I click on the download link in this page: http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/embedded/products/networking/ethernet-controller-i210-i211-family-software.html http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/embedded/products/networking/ethernet-controller-i210-i211-family-software.html I get a "Document not available" error.

Can you help me to get the Intel® Network Connections Tools so that we can use the I210 NICs on our boards ?

thanks in advance,

Winfried

Hi Carlos,

Thanks for the reply. When I use the above link, I end up on the same "Document not available" web page. I tried with both Firefox and Chrome.

I was able to download the I210 firmware document (I210_I211_Production_images.zip) without problems, however there is something strange with the firmware installation tools link.

best regards,

Winfried

I encountered another problem: document # 348742 contains the programs 'eeupdate', 'lanconf' and 'nvmupdate' for Linux x86 and x86_64.

However the the I210 NICs that I am trying to program are soldered to a PCB with an ARMv7 processor (NXP i.MX6).

Are the above tools also available for Linux ARMv7 ? If not, how can we program the I210 NICs on our boards ?

Thanks in advance,

Winfried

Hi Adolfo, Carlos,

The PCB was designed internally by one of our hardware engineers. I know he has been in touch with people from Intel with regard to the I210 NIC, but I don't know if they reviewed the design.

I will ask my colleague tomorrow morning and let you know.

best regards,

Winfried

Hi Adolfo,

The design was developed by me and is largely based on Intel's reference design. It has not been reviewed by Intel.
