Hi Intel,
There are 2 series questions for E823 driver v1.14.9:
1. We found a problem on the C1 topology:
A server with E823 chip as PTP master (time from GNSS) to distribute time to 3 PTP slave (running ptp4l). Always one (and the same one) ptp Slave offset < +- 100ns. The rest two offset cannt converge (offset +-1xx ~ +- 3xx ns).
But the problem only happens when we install the new driver v1.14.9 with FW v3.26. It not happens after we rollback the driver v1.10.1.2 (FW is the same v3.26).
a. Did you ever test on such topology?
b. Would you provide us the working NIC E823 FW version pair to driver v.1.14.9?
2. It is not OK when we execute 2 programs (ptp4l master and ptp4l slave) on the same Quad.
We tried to setup the server as T-BC. So one port played as PTP slave the other one played as PTP master. These 2 ports belong to the same Quad. But we found the PTP slave offset could not converge (> +-100ns).
But if we made the PTP slave to the other Quad port, it was all OK.
Is there any limitation of executing PTP master and slave in the same Quad?
Thank you.
Regards,
Draco
