Unable to re-program the i210 chip using newer versions of EUPDATEW64e

Hi all,

I haven't found anything similar here so I decided to ask for answers.

One of our customers is buying a server application product using intel's xeon CPUs. To adapt the module to their systems a re-configuration of the i210 ETH controller is necessary.

The customer is using the EEUPDATEW64e Tool, Version 5.30.25.6 for that.

So when we get back the products for Service, modification or whatever we experience, that we are no more able to restore our standard settings of the i210. The only possible way seems to be to remove the SPI of the ETH controller and completely erase it or replace it physically with a new one.

Does it have to do with the version of the EEUPDATE Tool?

Or are there settings which prohibits an overwriting of the SPI content?

Thanks for hints!

BR,

Chris.

Thanks for the prompt answer.

For the moment we consider the customer somehow courrupts the iNVM content for whatever reason.

We will go back to them and ask them in details what and how they are doing.

If I have further questions I would raise them here.

Chris.
