E3845 based products do not stay in S5# when using the "Power Button Override

I have a customer that uses Power Button Override feature in their application. The data sheet for E3800 family states:

However a small precentage of CPUs reset instead of shutting down.

To test, Change the behaviour of the power button to "Do Nothing" in Windows.
Then press and hold the power button for 4 seconds.
A good board enters S5# and stays there. Like This:

A bad board resets like this:

Hello, @thendrix1:

Thank you for contacting Intel Embedded Community.

We want to address the following questions to understand the reported situation:

Could you please let us know if the affected device is your own design or it is a third-party one?

Could you please confirm if it is your design that has been verified by Intel?

Could you please inform us how we can find all the information on the affected third-party design?

We are waiting for your answers to these questions.

Best regards,

@CarlosAM_INTEL.

third party. It's a  https://portwell.com/products/detail.php?CUSTCHAR1=PCOM-BA00.

I can neither confirm or deny intel review of design.

Like a said, most of the boards work correctly, just a few exhibit the reset behavior. I'm guessing some wake event/pin is close to the threshold level thus working most of the time.
