How i know there was some problem like processor degradation on this series (on stepping B0). And this problem was solved on CPU with stepping start from C0.

Does anybody say me my processor stepping 8 its before C0? i correct understand ? and it have this problem with degradation ?

Thank you!

The Spec Code on the processor and found under "Ordering and Compliance, Ordering and Spec Information" is "SR3GZ", which is confirms C0 stepping.

Hello, @DYako1:

Thank you for contacting Intel Embedded Community.

Could you please let us know in detailed way the procedure to determine this problem?

Could you please clarify if the affected project is your design or a third- party one?

In case that it is a third-party device, could you please inform the name of the manufacturer, its model, the part number, and where its documentation is stated?

On the other hand, could you please let us know how many units of the project related to this circumstance have been manufactured? How many are affected? Could you please give the failure rate? Also, could you please list the sources that you have used to design it and if it has been verified by Intel?

Finally, could you please give pictures of the top side markings of the affected processors? By the way, please provide the part number of the processors associated to this situation.

We are waiting for your answer to these questions.

Best regards,

@Mæcenas_INTEL.

Good day, Maecenas!

My colleague has this problem some days ago on Synology NAS RS815, they NAS died after his CPU was gegradated, and i have Synology NAS 1817+.

Its third-party - not mine.

In my case this is Synology DS1817+

s/n 1770PKN038100

https://www.synology.com

For my company we have 2 projects (NAS) and now 1 is affected.

Now i cannot make photo - my CPU still in NAS and work 24/7. And now i dont know how i can get it serial or PN from linux console.

I just want know: Stepping 8 for this model- what is mean for me ? must i wait problems or not?

Have my CPU solved problem, described in http://www.intel.com/content/dam/www/public/us/en/documents/specification-updates/atom-c2000-family-spec-update.pdf with name AVR54 or not?

Synology support say me that the problem not affected to my product, but how i now in HEX 8 is before B0 and C0 and in this logic - problem can be affected to my CPU.

Thank you!

Hello, @DYako1:

Thanks for your reply.

The requested top side markings may clarify the steeping of the affected devices to determine the errata that may affect them.

On the other hand, could you please let us know where we can find the "stepping 8" information that you have mentioned?

We are waiting for the requested info.

Best regards,

@Mæcenas_INTEL.

Hello, @DYako1:

Thanks for your reply.

Based on your answer, the Steeping 8 information is provided by a third-party implementation. Due to this fact, we suggest you contact their developer to obtain the proper information. You contact them using as a reference the following site:

Hello, @DYako1:

Thanks for your reply.

The cited markings are related to C0 stepping device as @Al.Hill mentioned.

The list of the errata related to this and the other steeping, where you can confirm the requested information, can be found on pages 10 and 11 of the Intel Atom(R) Processor C2000 Product Family Specification Update - NDA document # 520653. This document should be accessible when you are logged into your Resource and Design Center (RDC) privileged account in the following website:

http://www.intel.com/cd/edesign/library/asmo-na/eng/520653.htm

In case that you need to update your RDC account or are experiencing problems with the previous site, you should fill out the form stated at the following website to receive the proper help:
