The workaround for Erratum # 30 for the 82576 refers a firmware fix in version 1.9 or later.

How does one obtain and install this firmware?

the only firmware 82576 has is the boot agent.

try updating the chip's boot agent.

hope this helps.

If the documentation for that product is correct, it only updates the FLASH NVM for network boots which we aren't using at all.

The Errata # 30 indicates there is a version 1.9 of the EEPROM firmware that has a 50/50 chance of fixing the problem we are seeing. I am using FLASH and EEPROM in the context of the chip documentation, not loosely.

if you go to downloadcenter.intel.com, then enter 82576. you'll get a result says the 'ibabuild' file is a firmware, see http://downloadcenter.intel.com/SearchResult.aspx?lang=eng&keyword=%2282576%22 this. updating the boot agent also updates the eeprom.

hope this is helpful.

I already downloaded that and it wasn't what I was looking for; however, I was provided with the correct files from other official channels and no longer need help here.

One of the most annoying experiences in the world for IT professionals has to be, "Nevermind, I fixed it," without any further information about how or where the problem was fixed.

You couldn't bother to tell us how, where, or through who you got the correct files?  What are the "other official channels"?  How about a file name that we could google?

Look at this poor sap that also ran across your post a year ago: https://forum.level1techs.com/t/intel-82576-firmware-pmd-you-the-fix/189735

I know this is 13 years later, but if you are reading this: this update file is still impossible to find.  Would you mind uploading it somewhere that we could all benefit from it?

Hi - bumping this post up. I have two NICs with 82576, and one one HW time-stamps are not working. I suspect it is the old firmware - where can I get an image to flash it ?
