Dear Support professionals,

Denverton Ethernet IXGBE spoof check for VF not working with IXGBE 5.14.6 version.

This is the context:

We have IXGBE 5.14.6 version (and this is also observed in an older version)

Kindly requesting to treat this as highest priority since this is blocking very critical deployment please. Much appreciate your kind important attention and valuable guidance please

The following are the steps:

These steps will indicate that

spoof check off functionality is not working in Denverton

Can we please request you to give the root cause as why spoof check off is not working.

STEPS done please:

1) rmmod ixgbe

2) modprobe ixgbe MDD=0,0,0,0

3) echo command to create VF

4) Ip link command to Trust on

5) Ip link command to spoof check off

6) Create a condition for Spoof  - by sending a packet with SRC address = DST address

7) Since Spoof check was off (in step 5), we should not see spoof check and the packet should TX

However what we observe is dmesg indicates x # of Spoofed packets detected

9) And TX does not happen as well.

10) This indicates that the spoof check off functionality is not working in Denverton

11) Can we please request you to give the root cause as why spoof check off is not working.
