How to configure VLAN Id in Windows 7 Pro?

I have an Intel 82566DM-2 Gigabit NIC in a HP desktop running Windows 7 Pro 32-bit.

How do I configure a LAN configuration to have a specific VLAN id? Is there any utility available/needed?

Thanks.

When you install Advanced Network Services (ANS) as part of the default software installation, you get a VLAN tab in Windows Device Manager where you can configure the VLAN ID. You might have the tab now. Just look at the device properties and look for the VLAN tab.

You can get the latest WIndows 7 software at http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?DwnldID=18713 http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?DwnldID=18713.

Thanks!

I downloaded and installed ProWin32.exe (Intel Network Connections 18.2.63.0 reported in Programs and Features), but I still see only four tabs: General, Driver, Details, Power Management, even after rebooting. Did I do anything wrong or is there something else I should have done?

I'm not sure why you can't see the VLAN tabs. Maybe PROSet and ANS are not being installed when you run the installation package. Those are usually checked by default, but if you only had the base drivers, then you migtht have to manually check those options. Those are the options higlighted in yellow below.

If PROSet and ANS are checked when you install, but you still can't see the tabs, then I would try removing all components of the installation using the Windows Control Panel. Tgeb rebott and install the drivers and software from scratch.

http://www.intel.com/support/network/sb/CS-030604.htm Network Connectivity — Intel PROSet configuration tabs are missing has information about a required service for the tabs to be displayed. Maybe the Windows Management Instrumentation service is being blocked on your PC for some reason.

I can't think of any other reasons why you wouldn't see the VLAN tab.

Hello,

I have installed Advanced Network Services and can see VLAN tab in Windows Device Manager.

I have added a VLAN 12 but the VLAN 12 interface still disconnected, see below :
