Intel X710-t2l can't update firmware, can't get 2.5gbe

Hello, I'm using FreeBSD 12.2/PFSense 2.5.2 with an Intel X710-t2l

I cannot get 2.5gbe, only 10gbe and 1gbe.

Here are my details:

fw 7.83.59945 api 1.9 nvm 7.10 etid 800075d6 oem 19.4864.12

 vendor=0x8086 device=0x15ff subvendor=0x8086 subdevice=0x0005 class=0x020000

Intel(R) Ethernet Controller X710 for 10GBASE-T - 2.3.0-k

I tried to run a firmware update, but I can't find any nvmupdate that will work with my etid of 75d6. I'm not even sure if that would fix it.

Hello jonowar,

Thank you for posting in Intel Ethernet Communities.

For us to further check the issue, please provide the following details.

  1. Are you designing a board/system with embedded Intel X710-t2l?
  2. If you are using a PCI Intel X710-t2l, can you provide photos of the card on both sides for us to validate if the card is not OEM.
  3. Can you share a screenshot if you are getting an error during firmware update?

If you have questions, please let us know. In case we do not hear from you, we will make a follow up after 3 workings days. Thank you.

Best regards,
