My internet keeps dropping every 10 minutes or so, it's a new computer with an ASRock B250M Pro4 motherboard, and a wired ethernet connection. My phone does not have any problems with the same router, neither did my previous computer.
I've read a bunch of solutions around the web, the main one is to go to Device Manager -> the network adapter -> Properties -> Power Management, and then turn off the "Allow the computer to save power" option.
This option wasn't there, and my settings looked something like this http://i.imgur.com/PBgPCSs.png http://i.imgur.com/PBgPCSs.png which I assume is because the driver is newer than when that solution was proposed. I turned all the options in this dialog off, and it made no difference. I
I then installed several different versions of the drivers on the intel site, some with the "save power" option, and none of them stopped the issue from occurring.
What are my next steps?

Looking at the specs of your motherboard, it comes with I219-V ethernet controller. We have customer in other thread who also encountered disconnection problem and was fixed by system manufacturer coming up with a utility.

I'd suggest you to contact Asrock support to check if other similar board user also experiences the same issue and possible workaround.
Additional isolation if you have spare computer or other router, you can connect the Asrock system LAN to the spare computer or other router to check if you would encounter the LAN drop issue.

Hi Vince appreciate the replies, apologies I was away for a few days.
I'm still having the problem, I will lodge a support query with ASrock. The common culprit I'm seeing with the people in that thread is virtualization/VPN software but that could be a total red herring.
A while since I made the thread but the issue persists.
I contacted ASRock, they got me to reinstall LAN drivers again and upgraded the mobo bios but after that just said go to my local computer shop (eye roll). I also used the windows Network Reset feature and that didn't help. Not sure what I should do to troubleshoot further.

1. Change the "Receive Buffers" from "256" to "512"
2. Change the "Transmit Buffers" from "512" to "128"
These settings can be found in the Advanced properties of I219-V in Device Manager.
3. Update to latest driver version 22.214.171.124

Other isolation you may want to consider is connecting the I219-V to different network and check if you would encounter the same internet problem.

I've tried to duplicate your issue in my lab using I219-V, unfortunately, it's not successful. The reason might be due to different environment (motherboard and network).
Hi Vince I realise it's been a long time since I posted but my issue persists. This weekend I finally got around to taking to somewhere with a different router and the issue did not occur.
There are several other computers in the house that work fine, I don't know why this one is having trouble with what I assume is the router. Any help appreciated for further diagnostic tools or ideas is appreciated.
