Dear,
Thank you for your really kind support.
Is "864968" guaranteed to work with Win10 LTSC?
I confirmed this matter with Intel Customer Support (case number: 05857189), but they said that they didn't understand.
Thank you again for your favor.
Best regards.

Explain what 864968 is.
And, what version of W10 LTSC are you talking about?

Dear,
Thank you for your prompt reply.
"864968" is the product code of Ethernet board made by Intel.
The product name is "Intel Pro/1000 GT Desktop Adapter".
Ver. is probably 21H2.
When I used this Ethernet board with LTSC, I had a communication problem.
I suspect that the cause is that this Ethernet board does not support LTSC.
Thank you again for your kindness.
Best regards.

Is this the card?
https://www.intel.com/content/dam/doc/product-brief/intel-pro-1000-gt-desktop-adapter-datasheet.pdf
The 864968 is not an ordering code, but a MM#
https://qdms.intel.com/dm/i.aspx/982F08B5-3CAB-4895-B2F5-21BAF7493D1C/PCN116776-02.pdf
The product ordering code is: PWLA8391GT
Intel® PRO/1000 GT Desktop Adapter PWLA8391GT 864968
Is it guaranteed to work with W10 LTSC? Well, you did not tell me which version of W10 LTSC you have. But, to answer your question, no, nothing is guaranteed. Provide the version of W10 LTSC you have for a better answer.

Dear Mr. or Mis.Alhill,
Thank you for your reply.
As you told me, the product ordering code for the product was PWLA8391GT. Thank you very much.
I'm really sorry, I don't know the LTSC Ver.
However, does that mean that it is not supported depending on the version of Win of LTSC?
Let me explain the situation.
I installed software developed by my company on a Win10LTSC PC,
and connected a product (precision machinery) also developed by my company using PWLA8391GT to monitor its behavior.
At that time, there was a problem that only one function was not displayed correctly.
Our company's R&D was developed to run on win10 64bit pro, and we haven't checked the operation on LTSC,
but both home and LTSC limit the functions of Pro, so if it runs on Pro, it will work without problems. I argue that it should.
And since the PWLA8391GT is a fairly old Ver. product, I thought that this product might not be guaranteed to operate LTSC.
Thank you for your support again.
Best regards.

Hi @Ninomyu,
Thank you for posting in Intel Ethernet Communities.
As per advise by @AlHill and thank you so much, you may refer to the supporting OS from the Intel Pro/1000 GT Desktop Adapter's datasheet:
https://www.intel.com/content/dam/doc/product-brief/intel-pro-1000-gt-desktop-adapter-datasheet.pdf
Alternatively, you can refer to Microsoft Update Catalog:
It is very unlikely Intel® PRO/1000 GT Desktop Adapter's full feature is supported in Windows 10 platform.
You can try to install new driver from here to try mitigate the issue:
It’s recommended for you to update driver through the device manager instead of using exe file, as below:
Extract Release_28.0.zip and update driver by browsing ..\Release_28.0\PRO2500\Winx64\NDIS68
Please let me know if I can be of any assistance.
Best regards,

Dear Mr. or Mis.B_Y,
Thank you for your reply.
Yes already we checked the data sheet and microsoft update list.
I have already updated the latest version of the driver (28.0 ), but it did not solve the problem.
↓This HP says that this driver supports 64bit for windows10, but I'm not sure if this description means that it includes all 64bit versions of the OS or not.
https://www.driverscape.com/download/intel%28r%29-pro-1000-gt-desktop-adapter
In fact, it is our customers who are causing trouble with this problem.
They have selected a new Etherboard from the list of products supported by the latest driver (28.0) and have started using it.
And it is said that this problem has not occurred with the new Etherboard.
The new Etherboard is named "Intel® Ethernet Network Adapter I225-T1" and is indeed listed on the HP (↓) as "This download is valid for the product(s) listed below."
And there is no name for "Intel® PRO/1000 GT Desktop Adapter PWLA8391GT 864968".
So we thought that the "Intel® PRO/1000 GT Desktop Adapter PWLA8391GT 864968" is no longer guaranteed to work (it's an old product).
Thank you for your answer again.
Bets regards.

@Ninomyu Please do yourself a favor and NOT use 3rd party driver sites. You never know what information from your machine they are uploading (and to what country it is going), and you never know what payload is in the packages they are downloading.

Thank you for your reply.
I'm sorry, I only used this site for information confirmation.
Intel's Driver site only said "For windows", so I used it to confirm that win10 is also supported.
I downloaded the latest driver from the official website.
Still, the problem is reproduced, so I think that there is a problem with the driver or our development team.
Best regards.

Hi @Ninomyu,
Thank you for your feedback.
May I suggest you to consider sharing your purpose and goal of testing Intel® PRO/1000 GT Desktop Adapter in Windows 10 LTSC environment?
1) What is the model of system board used in this testing?
2) What is the OS version of the Windows 10 LTSC used in this testing?
Steps as following can be found: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server/get-started/servicing-channels-comparison
Open PowerShell and use below command:
Get-ItemProperty -Path "HKLM:\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion" | Select ProductName, ReleaseId, InstallationType, CurrentMajorVersionNumber,CurrentMinorVersionNumber,CurrentBuild
3) What kind of behaviour is expected from the team during your testing? Please consider about sending us a screenshot or output fault so we can use it as a case study.
Intel wouldn't recommend download from third party unless directly from OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) and sometime they have latest driver.
Alternatively, you can do clean driver installation here:
https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000058304/ethernet-products.html
And install the driver from here, you may consider the version 26.8:

Dear @B_Y ,
Thank you for your reply.
The customer has already used the new Ethernet board and the issue itself has been resolved.
Therefore, we would like to know why "Intel® PRO/1000 GT Desktop Adapter PWLA8391GT 864968" did not work properly.
1)、2)
Sorry Japanese only, but the below is the Type of customer's PC.
If the NIC works or does not work properly depending on the motherboard type or LTSC version,
we will confirm it with the customer.
3)
There is a problem that one function of a certain software produced by our company is not displayed properly.
Is it profitable to provide this?
We are sorry, we only used this site for information confirmation.
Intel's Driver site only said "For windows", so we used it to confirm that win10 is also supported.
Customer downloaded the latest driver from the official website.
Still, the problem is reproduced, so I think that there is a problem with the driver or our development team.
Is the reason why you suggested trying 26.8 is that the Intel® PRO 1000 series is listed in the release notes, "This download is valid for the product(s) listed below." ?
Does that mean that the fact that there is no description of 28.0 means that it is not a target for operation?
For us, the information that it is not guaranteed to work is very important and profitable.
Thank you for your support.
Best regards.

Hi @Ninomyu,
Thank you for your patience.
Intel PRO/1000 GT Desktop Adapter has inbox driver only for Windows 10. In-box means the drivers are supplied with Windows, it came with a CD before it has been discontinued. Driver and software updates aren't planned for adapters with only in-box support. These adapters can't be updated using automated or manual methods.
Unfortunately, the answer is "No", it is not guaranteed to work with Win10 LTSC.
The Intel Ethernet Server Adapter I210-T1 is the recommended replacement for the Intel PRO/1000 GT Desktop adapter.
Note: Please check first with the board/system manufacturer if the adapter is validated for your system to avoid any issues.
I hope this clarifies things for you.

Dear @B_Y ,
Thank you for your really kind support.
With your support, all our doubts have been cleared.
"Intel PRO/1000 GT Desktop Adapter is not guaranteed to work with win10 LTSC due to the driver update structure."
This is the answer we were looking for.
Please let me know just in case.
The customer is currently using the I225-T1 as a replacement.
Is it possible to update driver and software for I225-T1?
Also, the I225-T1 was on the operation target list of the latest driver (28.0), so it's guaranteed to work, right?
Thank you again for your all.
Best regards.

Hi @Ninomyu,
Yes, that would be the case for "Intel PRO/1000 GT Desktop Adapter is not guaranteed to work with win10 LTSC due to the driver update structure."
I225-T1 was launched 2021 (you may refer to the specification and downloads at here https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/products/sku/211808/intel-ethernet-network-adapter-i225t1/specifications.html)
Yes, it is possilbe to update the driver with the latest package 28.0 and I225-T1 adapter is in the list for supported Windows 10, 11 and Server 2022 driver.
You may refer to this How-to Videos: Identify your Ethernet Device, Driver Version, and Update the Driver:
https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000055556/ethernet-products.html
It is also very important to check first with the board/system manufacturer if the adapter is validated for your system to avoid any issues like incompatibility.

Dear @B_Y ,
Thank you for your really kind support.
For our reference, if you know, please let me know.
We expect the I225-T1 to become out of service at some point as well.
Do you know how long it will take for the product to be out of warranty?
Thank you again for your favor.
Best regards.

Dear @B_Y ,
Thank you for your really kind support.
I checked the list of Link.
Excuse me, could you tell me what list this is?
In the list, there is a 5-year warranty from the discontinuation of sales,
and it is described that "the warranty period of PWLA8391GT is until December 2023".
As you already told me, PWLA8391GT operation guarantee is not covered because the driver cannot be updated, right?
Thank you very much again.
Best regards.

Hi @Ninomyu,
Intel PRO/1000 GT Desktop Adapter/PWLA8391GT has been discontinued and there is no further update from Intel on drivers that can support Windows 10 and LTSC. The Warranty Expiration Date: 28-Dec-2023
For Intel Ethernet Network Adapter I225-T1 with ordering code: I225T1BLK related to Retail Bulk, the discontinued of sales is 5-Apr-2022 and the Warranty Expiration Date: 5-Apr-2027. You may also refer to this: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/products/sku/211808/intel-ethernet-network-adapter-i225t1/ordering.html on its differences of Ordering and Spec Information.
This link (https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000026530/ethernet-products/legacy-ethernet-products.html) that I have shared above contained the information such as Intel Ethernet Adapters that are discontinued will adhere to a 5-year warranty period from the date of Intel’s announcement of end of life or discontinuance. Discontinued adapters that currently fall outside the 5-year period are no longer under Warranty.
I hope this clarifies your concern.
