I found that ixgbe driver with 10GE cards can offload macsec, but ethtool -k does not show this feature. Can you tell, what card and versio of driver have i to use to get this feature?

Hello iiwan,

Thank you for the patience.

We'd like to inform you that ixgbe driver does not support MACSec and there's currently no plan to add the MACSec support in the driver. Unfortunately, we can't provide performance information about the offloading since the MACSec is through Linux Software implementation.

There's currently no Intel network adapter that supports MACSec offload.

Let us know if you have additional questions on this matter.

Best regards,

Hello iiwan,

Thank you for the patience on this matter.

Please be informed that the Linux driver does not support MACsec, kindly look into the DPDK implementation of MACsec for X520 Hardware.

https://doc.dpdk.org/dts/test_plans/macsec_for_ixgbe_test_plan.html

If you have further query regarding DPDK, see the following for access to Intel Premier Support. Click the "Login and Access" to contact the DPDK support " https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/design/support/ips/training/access-and-login.html

If you have any other questions, please let us know.

Thank a lot. Can you explain, ixgbe driver does not support macsec offload or macsec at all? Because linux has support of macsec via ip utility. And can you tell, what performance can i get without offloading? Is it plaining to support macsec offload, or may be some other hardware, x710 support it?
