Hi, hello
My E810 NIC is installed on the Xfusion server.

The NIC model is E810CQDA2, and the optical module model is E100GQSFP28SRX.

The model of the peer switch is Arista DCS-7280CR3-32D4, the optical module on the switch is Arista QSFP-100G-SR4, and the firmware of the switch is as follows:▁4.25.2F-207113084252F. The operating system installed on the server is CentOS7.9..
We found that the E810 NIC failed to go Up and the firmware of the NIC was 2.15. We tried to upgrade the NIC to 2.30 and 3.10, but the problem was not solved.

Could you please  suggest that what is missing or wrong?

What we have operated is as below:

1. After the optical module is removed and then inserted, some optical modules can go Up and some optical modules cannot UP
2. After the optical module is removed and inserted, the network port goes Up for about 1 minute, and the network port goes Up for 10 minutes or even two hours
3. The two ports of the E810 network adapter on the server are directly connected. The UP is normal
4. Some network adapters are normal and some network adapters are abnormal. We swap the network adapters. The normal network adapters are still normal, and the abnormal network adapters are still abnormal
5. Change the FEC mode of the NIC to AUTO, None, or BaseR. The problem cannot be solved
6. Some network adapters are always normal after optical fibers are inserted.

Hi Zhengzhe_11030,

Thanks for posting in the Intel Ethernet Communities. Based on what you've shared, here are a few things you can try:

1) Check out these articles for some help with port down issues: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000087329/ethernet-products.html

2) Update your driver to version 1.11.14. You can grab it from this website: https://sourceforge.net/projects/e1000/files/ice%20stable/, or from the Intel website here: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/19630/intel-network-adapter-driver-for-e810-series-devices-under-linux.html

3) Update your NVM firmware to the latest version (4.20)

https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/19626/non-volatile-memory-nvm-update-utility-for-intel-ethernet-network-adapters-e810-series-linux.html

4) Make sure the optical modules you're using are compatible with the Intel Ethernet Network Adapter E810-CQDA1/CQDA2.

You can check that out here: https://compatibleproducts.intel.com/ProductDetails?activeModule=Intel%C2%AE%20Ethernet&prdName=Intel%C2%AE%20Ethernet%20Network%20Adapter%20E810-CQDA1%20/%20CQDA2
