Hi Intel Team,
Below is our application block diagram-
The requirement is to provide 4x SFP+ ports but X710-TM4 only supports 2x SFI and 2x 10GBASE-T.
1. Is there any other device or X710 variant that can support 4x SFP+ directly
2. Can you pls suggest dual port Media convert , to convert copper to fiber 10G as per above block diagram
Regards,
Aditya

Hi Aditya,
Thank you for posting in Intel Ethernet Communities.
- There is no 4x sfp+ port support in Intel® Ethernet Network Adapter X710 variant.
You might consider to get Intel® Ethernet Network Adapter E810-XXVDA4 for OCP 3.0.
You can refer by this link below:
Intel® Ethernet Product Compatibility Tool for Ethernet
https://compatibleproducts.intel.com/ProductDetails?activeModule=Intel%C2%AE%20Ethernet
2 . Currently Intel doesn't have media converter product available. You may refer to OEM.
Looking forward to your reply.
We will follow up after 3 business days in case we don't hear from you.

Hi JunAn,
Thanks for your quick response.
As per product brief of X710-DA4 it supports quad port SFP+.
Do you see any limitation in using X710-DA4 into our design for quad port SFP+ requirement.
Also, request you to share the datasheet and other reference documents related to X710-DA4.
Regards,
Aditya

Hi Aditya,
Sorry for wrong information provided.
Yes, Intel® Ethernet Controller X710-DA4 does supports quad port SFP+, 10GBASE-SR and -LR optical transceivers
10GbE SFP+ DAC.
We don't have specific datasheet for this model, we only have full datasheet for this X710 series.
You may refer this link below:

Hi JunAn,
Thanks for the confirmation. Can you please share below documents for X710DA4OCPV3 if available-
- Reference design (.DSN and .BRD file is preferred)
- Design guide and any other documents
- OrCAD symbol
- Footprint for Allegro

Hi JunAn,
There is little bit confusion here. We require an Ethernet controller supporting quad SFP+ modules but X710-DA4 is an Ethernet adaptor which uses X710-BM2 Ethernet controller. X710-BM2 is a dual port Ethernet controller which supports 2x SFP+ modules.
After further browsing on Intel website we came across XL710 series which supports quad SFP+ modules.
We are planning to use FTXL710-BM1 into our design for quad SFP+ module support requirement. Please share below documents-
1) OrCAD symbol for FTXL710-BM1
2) Allegro Footprint for FTXL710-BM1
3) EOL for FTXL710-BM1
4) Refence design (.DSN and .BRD preffered) for FTXL710-BM1

Hi Aditya,
Thanks for your quick response.
As for your request, this is out of our scope. We only can provide Datasheet in this community.
Datasheet for Intel® Ethernet Controller X710/XXV710/XL710:
Because the documents that you request is under Intel® Confidential, you might need to create a case in Intel® Premier Support (IPS).
Refer Intel® Premier Support link below:
https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/design/support/ips/training/welcome.html
Otherwise, you have to create a post in embedded community if you don't have Intel® Premier Support (IPS) access.

Hi Aditya,
Good day to you.
Currently we don't have the info for End Of Life(EOL) details, you have to wait for intel announcement.
But Intel did mentioned about Expected Discontinuance.
Expected Discontinuance is an estimate of when a product will begin the Product Discontinuance process.
You might refer to the link below

Hi JunAn,
Thanks for your quick response.
While browsing through datasheet of XL710, I found that there is only one package given in section 13.7-
There are total 8 SerDes lanes are available in XL710 series divided into two groups Group A and Group B. Same can be cross verified from table 2-3 into the datasheet.
As per product brief of XL710-BM1, it can support 4 x10GbE SFI modules.
Below are our queries-
1) Which group (group A or group B) will be available into XL710-BM1 variant
2) Is there any difference between package of XL710-BM1 and XL710-BM2 variant
3) Section 1.1 shows the block diagram for XL710 series-
There are two block diagrams showing below information
a) As per figure 1-5 XL710 series supports: 2x 40G or 4x 10G/1G
b) As per figure 1-7 XL710 series supports: 2x40G or 4x 10G/1G/100M
Which XL710 variant supports option "A" and option "B"
