Running qcuw64e /nic=1 /info
Current Config: 2x40
Supported: 1x40 2x40 4x10 2x2x10
Does the NIC support one port to run at 40Gbe and one port to run at 4x10Gbe?
Can I configure 1 port on the XL710-Q2 to run as 1x40 and 1 port to run as 4x10 at the same time? If so how?
or
If I configure 2x2x10 and use a QSFP+ to 10G breakout cable (connect one server with XL710-Q2 with another server with X520-2)
Can I then replace the breakout cable and connect QSFP+ to QSFP+ on 2x2x10?
Once I convert one server from X520-2 to XL710-Q2 I cannot shut it down, the 2 servers are in HA mode.

2x2x10 works with QSFP+ to QSFP+ cross over.
iperf test results in 2x40 show that the cards do perform well, but encountered weird behaviour when running 2x40, Windows 2012 R2 seems to show TCP/IP settings in DHCP mode but when running netsh or ipconfig shows the correct static entry.
And it seems if I run in 10G mode I lose 1/2 the capabilities of the card, why does it not support 2x4x10?

Hi CAbi18700,
Thank you for contacting Intel.
The valid configurations are:
• Intel® Ethernet Converged Network Adapters XL710-QDA2(8086-1583): 2x40, 2x2x10, 4x10
• Intel® Ethernet Converged Network Adapters XL710-QDA1(8086-1584): 1x40, 4x10
Reference: https://www-ssl.intel.com/content/www/us/en/embedded/products/networking/qsfp-configuration-utility-quick-usage-guide.html Intel® QSFP+ Configuration Utility (QCU) Quick Usage Guide (page 6)
Can you further elaborate on the weird behaviour that you are encountering on 2x40 configuration?
Please indicate the driver version and the etrack ID.
You can find the etrackID under Link/Speed Tab, then click on Identify Adapter button.
Looking forward to your reply.
Sincerely,
Sandy
