Hi AlexeyDM,
Thank you for the post. Just to double check:
Are you saying if using fw version 5.05 the split will not work?

Hi AlexeyDM,
Just to double check are you saying that you only encountered the issue when
using QSFP configuration utilty for Freebsd ( https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25852/Intel-QSFP-Configuration-Utility-FreeBSD-), he encountered the zsh: segmentation fault (core dumped) error?
No issue if you use the configuration utility EFI to configure 1x40 to 4x10 on the XL710 which downloaded from
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25854/Intel-QSFP-Configuration-Utility-EFI-
Just to clarify also if you want to report to us there's problem with our program (qcu64e) in Freebsd 12? Is your concern addressed by using the EFI version of the QSFP utility?
We have latest release of Freebsd driver (1.7.11) in download center,
please try download and install https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25160/Ethernet-Intel-Network-Adapter-Driver-for-PCIe-40-Gigabit-Ethernet-Network-Connection-under-FreeBSD-
As stated in our documentation, QCU tool requires latest NVMe firmware and driver to be loaded, kindly refer to page 3 of this link http://www.intel.com/content/dam/support/us/en/documents/network/adapter/qsfp-configuration-utility-quick-usage-guide.pdf
Please feel free to update me. Thank you.

Hi AlexeyDM,
Good day. Please be informed our engineer team is aware of this reported issue, but there is no timeline for the fix in next release. For the meantime, you can continue to use the EFI version of QCU for your setup. Please let me know if you still have other inquiries. Thank you.
