Hi,all

I plan to implement 10G Ethernet in cyclone 10GX,but I have some questions list below and need your help.

1.Which Phy is the best choice to implement 10G Ethernet ?

1G/2.5G/5G/10G multi-rate Ethernet PHY or Transceiver Native PHY?

2.Does the 1G/2.5G/5G/10G multi-rate Ethernet PHY can be used only when the medium is copper?

According the user guides about the ip mentioned above,I think the Transceiver Native PHY combind with the LL Ethernet 10G MAC maybe is better, but i am not sure.

I hope someone can help me. Looking forward your reply.

Hi,

As per the C10 PHY user guide, it is supported 10GBASER and also 1G/2.5G/5G/10G Multi-rate PHY IP.

And yes, this is suggested to work with the LL ethernet 10G MAC PHY, from the LL MAC ethernet 10G IP GUI, you can choose the example design for Cyclone 10 GX from the presets and then generate it. Besides, it should work with copper or optical medium.
