1. May I know which version of Modelsim are you using, Is it Starter Edition or non-Starter Edition ?
2. Possible to provide your design for us to better support your issues on debugging ?

 I used  Modelsim version 10.7d paid license (non-starter version).  Thanks for your response.

I also used Questasim version10.6d paid license (non-starter version).  None of these versions work.
