VIP: Designing own components - possible?

Hi,

I'm very interested in using the VIP Suite. I've got a general question: Is it possible to design own components, like an own Testpattern Generator or similar...

I asked because I don't know yet how to integrate my own components to the others for example. Is there any sheet where the information flow of the din and dout connectors of the VIP components is described for example? Or how does it work to design own components for an existing suite?

Thanks for giving me a short overview!

Best regards,

Yes, it is possible. I've done it already. Just look at Altera website -- there is many information about this (Avalon Master/slave, Streming interface ...) It is very tricky but it works.
