intel early pin assignment

i have tried to generate pin report for dummy design as whole design completion takes time. when i tried to assign epcs pins to design pins, it is not accepting and showing error as dedicated pins can not be assigned. but epcs pins only got assigned for that error is showing for cyclone v gx.

is there any rule like epcs controller ip instantiation is required to assign the dedicated pins?

as early pin check, i didnt add any actual ip interface, just i have created the topfile with input , output

Please help me to solve this?

Can you show the actual errors, code, etc.?  Hard to figure this out without any details.

Can you expand the error messages to show the actual details?  This doesn't help much.

Clearly, you can't use AF5 for this function since it's a dedicated programming pin.

but i am assigning epcs controller pins only. Whether this dedicated pin will automatically assign once we instantiate the epcs controller ip.

Hi SERMASWATHIKA,

Based on my understanding you won't need to assign the pin manually, dedicated pins are typically assigned through the pin planner or assignment files in the Quartus. May I know specifically what are you trying to achieve?
