newbie question: Processors

Hi,

I am a newbie with FPGAs and softcore-processors.

I bought a altera board and used the nios II processor.

Now my question:

Is it possible to use other procossors on the altera board as the nios?

For example is it (theoretically) possible to use a MicroBlaze processor on it? why not?

Or the openSource processors. Are there any porting necessary for the different FPGA (like the cyclone)?

Thanks a lot!!!

Ofcourse, you can implement other processors on Altera FPGA, but you need to create all support for that too in order to get it going.
