Hi All!

I've got my Cyclone V GT Development Kit and I have some difficulties with it.

1. Board Test System application fails when I try to launch it.

2. Where I can get some reference designs and examples (PCIe, Ethernet...) for the board?

Thanks in advance!!!

What is the error observed? Do you have the required Quartus II version installed?

Some screenshots and further details on the BTS errors will be helpful to further understanding.

If after the kit installation but got file missing, you could contact Altera to request for it.

can u try using sof2flash bts_config_13_0_0.sof to convert to the flash file that u need?

This sof file is located in cycloneVGT_cgtfd9ef35_fpga/examples/board_test_system/bts_config folder.

Hi All!

Sorry for my missing. I've got the answer from Altera - they said that I need Quartus v13. It seems rather strange not to support such a development kit function with newer version of Quartus that I have.

Thanks in advance for help!!!!

Thanks for sharing. I think the BTS is developed up to QII 13 and newer version might have compatibility issue.

You are right. As I checked the webpage at https://www.altera.com/products/boards_and_kits/dev-kits/altera/kit-cyclone-v-gt.html. Seems like the BTS version is only 13.0.

Hello,

I'm a newbie in dealing with the Cyclone V GT development Kit.

I started with the quick start guide, the explanations are very clear but when came the time to upload the bts_config.flash to my flash in this board,

I was unable to locate this file in the stipulated folder (<installation directory>\kits\cycloneVGT_5cgtfd9ef35_fpga\factory_recovery\build_factory_source\)

why this file is not present in the right folder (by default) ?

Of course I tried to generate this file using sof2flash bts_.... as it was explained in the post the october 21, 2015 at 08:37 A.M

I obtained a .flash file. The upload process with the BUP had worked pretty well.

But when I opened the BTS the result was pretty bad (see below):

http://www.alteraforum.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=11727&stc=1

"NO USB BLASTER DETECTED" !

Do you know why?

NB: I made the same test with Quartus15.1 standard edition, with Quartus13.0 and with the Quartus13.0sp1 (and in all cases did not work)

Thanks for any comments, remarks or ideas to fix this problem.

Hi,

I've got exactly the same concern.

I do not know how to deal with it ?

I tried to re generated on my own this bts_config.flash file (using the sof2flash command in a windows command.

The generating process worked, I've got the file (bts_config.flash).

But when uploaded using Altera B.U.P application, the result failed !

I do not how to untangle this very tricky concern ?

Hello Monsieur,

No I had never installed any driver.

But when I hit "jtagconfig --debug" in a command Nios II command shell, I see the 2 Altera component (Cyclone 5 and MAx V)

It's the reason why, I assume the driver are loaded in my PC.

Meanwhile, Right now, I gonna try to load this driver and install it.......I'll give you the result in few minutes!

Hi Mr Good hope,

I made a big step forward(because of your advice).

Yes there was a concern with my USBBlaster II driver.

On my computer, my USBBlaster II device did not point in the quartus/drivers/usb-blaster-ii folder but this device pointed to quartus/drivers/usb-blaster folder.

I fixed that !

Now the Board Test System application seems to connect properly to the USB blaster link.

The menu, in the BTS, are now available "Configure" ==>"Configure with Flash/GPIO Design" for instance.

But when I select this one, a new failure occurs!

In the Messages room, it over expressed this message:

"failed to configure

conf_done did not go high"

Do you have an idea, of what's might going on ?

Thanks for your involvement.

Mr Good hope,

I just forgot to tell you, that the file bts_config.flash loaded in the flash throughout the BUP tool, was generated by myself, perhaps i made a mistake(during the generating process) ?

Because the native one, was not present in the location stipulated in the quick start guide document(My local support team(Arrow electronics) try to fix this concern and should give me an explanation of the reason why this file is naively missing).

Perhaps you have locally in your computer this native bts_config.flash file ?
