Searching for a direct EPM3064ATI44-10N replacement for an old PBA design. Any suggestions?

Hello everyone,

I am currently doing a redesign of a older board for a client, which is using an obsolete EPM3064ATI44-10N CPLD component for some of their control logic. As the client would prefer a direct replacement (prefferably with minimal software or hardware changes), I am currently trying to look for which component from Altera's CPLD line could make for a suitable replacement.

I admit I am not so familiar with CPLD usage, however, I think I have managed to identifiy a possible replacement in the form of the Altera EPM7064BTC44-5, part of the MAX7000B. Since it seems to share the same characteristics and the same package (44-TQFP), except for the supply voltage (this one is 2.5V, while the older one is 3.3V), it could possibly be a direct swap in, but I am unsure.

My question is, would this be a good replacement? If not, could anyone point me in a better direction for a direct replacement for the EPM3064ATI44-10N?

Thank you!

Microchip/Atmel ATF1504ASV-15AU44 is a direct drop in. Uses the existing .POF file via their POF2JED program. Production part.
