What's the correct switch setting for using external USB Blaster on Stratix 10 MX FPGA development kit?

Hi,

We read the following section,

https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/programmable/documentation/cbc1517362051825.html#sgk1519171036412

and this section,

https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/programmable/documentation/cbc1517362051825.html#asw1519171113092

but we are not sure what's the correct switch setting if we use external Blaster II download cable to program FPGA.

We connected external USB Blaster II to JTAG port, and tried all the switch combination exhaustively.

Quartus Programmer only detected FPGA successfully with three combinations:

SW2-1/SW2-2/SW2-3/SW2-4 =

OFF/OFF/ON/OFF,

ON/OFF/ON/OFF,

and ON/ON/ON/OFF.

Which one is expected switch setting?

Could you explain the definition of each switch more?

Thanks.

Hello

Welcome to INTEL forum. We recommended to use the Default Switch and Jumper Settings

Hi,

Understood.

And let me make sure I have it right.

Does the default setting mean that we need to external download cable (i.e. connect computer and FPGA board by a Blaster II cable) ?

Thanks.
