BigAl85Thank you for posting in the Intel® Communities Support.

We are sorry to hear about this issue and we will be more than glad to assist you with this matter.

In order for us to provide the most accurate assistance on this scenario, we just wanted to confirm a few details about your system:

Is this a new computer?

Was the game Garten of Banban 2 working fine before on this specific machine?

If yes, when did the issue start?

Did you make any recent hardware/software changes that might cause this problem?

Does the problem happen at home or in the work environment?

Please attach the SSU report so we can verify further details about the components in your platform, check all the options in the report including the one that says "3rd party software logs":

Good afternoon Albert,

Thank you for your response to my problem.   I am insufficiently skilled in IT matters to use the reporting facility link you provided, but I can provide the following information:

The offending machine is a Dell Vostro 3250 x64 based PC with an Intel Core i5 6400 CPU processor and 12 GB RAM.   The game Garten of Banban 2 would not work at all until I had an Asus GT1030-2G-BRK graphics card fitted (costing over GBP 120).   My PC is used in a home environment and is independent of any other system.   Internet access is hard-wired through a LAN connection.

All Roblox games work perfectly well

Thanks for your help

BigAl85, You are very welcome, thank you very much for providing that information.

No problem at all. Even though there is no need to be IT skilled in order to provide the SSU report, since you just need to install the application and then save the report, which contains essential information on this situation for us to be able to try to fix this problem.

For this scenario, it is very important to mention that it is always recommended to install the graphics driver provided by the manufacturer of the computer, since that driver was customized by them to work with your specific platform.

I looked on Dell's website for Dell Vostro 3250 drivers, and the latest graphics driver they have available for Windows * 10 is version 27.20.100.9664, A00. Please try a clean installation of that driver following the instructions in the links below:

https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-us/drivers/driversdetails?driverid=pggjr&oscode=wt64a&productcode=vostro-3250-small-desktop

https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000057389/graphics.html

If the issue persists after that, then try a clean installation, this time of our latest graphics driver version 31.0.101.4887:

https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/785597/intel-arc-iris-xe-graphics-windows.html?wapkw=arc

We also recommend to get in contact directly with Dell Support to make sure the latest BIOS version is currently installed in your machine or, to gather the instructions on how to update it:

https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-us

If the problem remains after that, then the SSU report will be required in order to confirm, the graphics controllers being used, the driver version installed, the Windows* version, among further details about your platform since everything is customized by the manufacturer of your device and you might be using a dual graphics configuration.

Good afternoon Alberto,

Thank you so much for taking an interest in my little problem.  As recommended I am attaching the SSU, (not that I understand one byte of the content).   When I first purchased Garten of Banban 2 for my granddaughter the game would not even open, and following an exchange on this forum with AlHill  on 09.30.2023 I downloaded the latest Intel driver that he recommended, and the game loaded successfully.   It was only when Little Hattie tried to play the game that the poor performance was discovered.

I know it's not the end of the world, but I'd like to find a solution if it is possible

Good afternoon BigAl85, You are very welcome, thank you very much for your response and for providing the SSU report.

We are sorry to hear the issue with the game remains after trying the troubleshooting steps suggested previously. We completely understand your concern and we are glad to help.

Based on the information shown in the SSU document, we can confirm that the computer is actually working with the NVIDIA GeForce GT 1030 graphics card, which means all the graphics tasks are being handled by that device. In this case, Dell (manufacturer of the computer), among all the customizations they can do on the laptop, decided to disable the Intel® graphics controller and use the Nvidia graphics card. The NVIDIA driver version currently installed is 31.0.15.3623.

Based on that, in order to try to fix this issue, we recommend to install the latest graphics driver version for the NVIDIA GeForce GT 1030 card which is 537.58 and you can find here:

https://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/212701/en-us/

Doing that and making sure that the latest BIOS version is currently installed on your machine, should fix the problem.

Once you get the chance, please let us know the results.

Good afternoon Albert,

Many thanks for your continued support.   I installed the latest graphics driver as recommended, with the result that on the first screen on opening the game the image was badly distorted by being stretched from left to right so the clock in the bottom right hand corner is no longer visible.   I then updated the bios to the latest version recommended by Dell, following which the stretched distortion persisted, and on trying to start the actual game it was no longer possible to actuate the E command, so I was unable to pick up the drone control or the electronic door key.   WASD movement is now faster, but still uneven and jerky.

To ascertain if all the changes to the system had affected any other game platform I opened Roblox to find everything worked perfectly.

Whilst we are in touch, could you tell me if it is possible to play Garten of Banban 2 with a generic USB game controller?

Thanks again for your help

Good afternoon BigAl85, Thank you very much for sharing those results.

It is unfortunate to hear that the problem with the game persists after updating the graphics driver provided by NVIDIA.

In reference to your question, yes, you should be able to use a USB game controller to play Garten of Banban 2. Still, it is important to mention, that for this scenario, especially if the problem happens with just one game, we recommend to verify the game requirements to make sure your system complies with them. Keep in mind that the performance will depend on the game specifications and your whole hardware configuration since games are usually GPU intensive.

Based on that, I will do further research on this subject to confirm if there is something else that we can try from our side and if the USB game controller will work for sure. As soon as I get any updates, I will post all the details on this thread.

Hello BigAl85, I just received an update on this matter.

After reviewing the case, it is important to mention that, since the computer is working with the NVIDIA GeForce GT 1030 graphics card, what we recommend in order to try to fix this problem will be to get in contact directly with Nvidia Support or with Dell Support directly, for them to provide further suggestions on this topic and a possible newer driver version for you to install and test:

https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/support/

https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-us

In reference to your inquiry, about if a USB game controller will work with Garten of Banban 2, in order to gather that information, please get in contact directly with the manufacturer of the controller so they can confirm those details for you.

It is also important to mention that your processor, the Intel® Core™ i5-6400 / Intel® HD Graphics 530 is under the status of End Of Interactive Support / Discontinued, as you can verify in the link below:
https://ark.intel.com/content/www/us/en/ark/products/88185/intel-core-i56400-processor-6m-cache-up-to-3-30-ghz.html

So, Intel® technical support will no longer be provided for this kind of product, but perhaps fellow community members have the knowledge to jump in and help. You may also find the Discontinued Products Website helpful to address your request:
https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/discontinued-products.html
