Tried to install latest 630 DCH drivers.

Machine is Lenovo P52, 8850H, Quadro P2000, W10Pro 1809.

Install returns an error message,

Is there any safe way around it?

Hi Al.Hill, considering that my laptop is hybrid graphics (with Nvidia Quadro P2000), do you believe that this will work without messing up everything?

Especially with hybrid graphics, you should use ONLY the drivers provided by your laptop manufacturer.

You should use ONLY the drivers provided by Lenovo for both of your adapters.

Sorry, but the two answers looks like totally contradicting.

Confused here.

Is it advisable to use the Intel downloads or not?

For laptops, the manufacturer likely has modified or customized the drivers, ESPECIALLY if you have hybrid graphics (as you do). Therefore, you should use ONLY the drivers provided by lenovo.

OK, clear.

Hoped that Intel site would be equally clear also.

The problem is that we are stuck with malfunctioning drivers; seems that Intel just now is rolling out proper 1809 DCH drivers; until these drivers reach OEMs, to build their own version etc., Windows will be in version 2022.

It is up to the laptop manufacturer to provide you the appropriate driver. If they are not responding quickly enough, get on the phone with them and demand support. The laptop manufacturer is solely responsible for support of your device.

How many times have you picked the phone and found reasoning? That is in the era of outsourced support departments (and most probably outsourced driver development teams???).

It is absolutely true that many laptop manufacturers have much better accountants than support engineers...

But still, it is March 2019 and Intel still tries to roll out 1809 drivers (that normally should be available well before Oct2018 I believe?).

We all have our own opinions.

However, the fact is that Lenovo is SOLELY responsible for the support of your hardware and drivers.
