I'm trying Ubuntu 22.04 and 24.04, but 3D performance is terrible and I can't get 60 fps at the 3840x2160 resolution. I'm trying to use the inbox drivers.
Looking at Xorg.0.log, it looks like X isn't detecting the GPU and falls back to fbdev. Do I need to force the right driver with an xorg.conf file? I'm also concerned that the intel_drv.so file is from Feb 2022, even on 24.04. I would have expected an update or two in the past 2 years.
Thanks,
Mark

Hello Pyite,
Thank you for posting in our Intel communities.
In order for me to isolate the issue and provide the appropriate solution, kindly provide the following information:
- Was the system working fine before?
- What are your system model and graphics?
- Are you using software to check or test your 3D performance? If yes, what software are you using?
- If you have updated your graphics driver, please provide the link to where you got it.
- Please provide us with your SSU, as it would really help us if we could get more information about your system.
Kindly do the following:
1. Download the Intel® System Support Utility and save the application to your system.
https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/18377/intel-system-support-utility-for-windows.html
2. Open the application, tick Everything, and click Scan to see system and device information. The Intel® System Support Utility defaults to the Summary View on the output screen following the scan. Click the menu where it says summary to change to Detailed View.
3. To save your scan, click Next and click Save. You can save the file to any accessible location on your computer.
4. Attach the text file here.
Thank you, and have a great day!
Best regards,
Carmona A.

Hello Pyite,
We really appreciate your response.
Since the problem we're having appears to be complex, please provide the following details so we can further isolate the issue that we have:
- Kindly, provide the apps or games where the issue occurs:
- Have you already enabled the Rezibale bar?
- What Is Resizable BAR, and How Do I Enable It?:
- And as for the Linux SSU, kindly do the following:
1. Download the Intel® System Support Utility and save the application to your system.
You may also check out this page, How to Fix Your Low Frame Rate, and follow the Easy Fixes for Low FPS to see if somehow the performance of the system gets better.
https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/gaming/resources/how-to-fix-your-low-frame-rate.html
Furthermore, when you have already shared with us your SSU, I will be discussing our issue with my team. As I mentioned earlier, the issue that we have is quite complex.
Thank you, and have a great day!
Best regards,
Carmona A.
