After update to 31.0.101.4575 can not use monitor's max resolution

I have a Dell 2007FP monitor that had been set to its native resolution of 1600 x 1200. This morning I ran recommended updates from Dell, and it updated the Intel Iris Xe/UHD Graphics Driver to 31.0.101.4575 . Immediately after my 2007FP monitor can only be set to a maximum resolution of 1280 x 1024, and the bottom of the screen duplicates the top ~300 pixels. I manually reinstalled the previous driver, Intel-Iris-Xe-UHD-Graphics-Driver_08HRD_WIN64_31.0.101.4502_A06.EXE , but that did not fix the problem, so I updated again to the latest driver 31.0.101.4575 .

Laptop: Dell Precision 5570

Dock: Dell Thunderbolt™ Dock – WD22TB4

Monitor: Dell 2007FP, connected from DVI-D output to DisplayPort to DVI-D Adapter, attached to dock with the full size DisplayPort connector

Please help me get this display working properly again!

Kevin

Thank you Swizzle5190, I had overlooked that in the release notes!  I searched for 'enable Display Stream Compression', and found this article: https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/en-us/000197102/how-to-enable-display-stream-compression-on-latitude-precision-and-xps  My registry entry value was 2, so I changed it to 0 according to the article and restarted, and my display is back to functioning normally!

Actually since I had gotten this new work laptop my 2007FP monitor has been going black for a couple seconds about once an hour, so it sounds like maybe that is the problem this update was trying to fix?  It's only been a few minutes since I've restarted and the monitor has not gone black so far, but even if it does I will gladly take that intermittent problem over my monitor being completely unusable.

Thank you!!

It is rare to come across an article online that summarizes the EXACT issue you are having but here it is.

3 users including myself are all having the same issue you described with Dell equipment (XPS 9520 and Dell WD19S for me) after installing:
Intel Corporation - Display - 31.0.101.4575

If you read the release notes, this is what they stated:
- Disabled the Display Stream Compression (DSC) feature to avoid a black screen being displayed when you connect an external monitor through a dock.

It seems that whatever this DSC feature does, it allows your monitors to work properly. Please fix this, Intel.

Thanks @IsaacQ_Intel , but I no longer need assistance. As @Swizzle5190 wrote, the only listed change in the new version's release notes was disabling Display Stream Compression.  I followed the article I posted above to re-enable Display Stream Compression, and now my computer and monitor are working correctly again, as they were before the 31.0.101.4575 driver update.  (My monitor still turns black for a second about every hour, but the resolution is correct again, so I am okay with this.)

Thanks,

Kevin
