Arc B580 Premiere Pro

Hello,

I have a build Intel system all drivers updated.
Ultra 265K
Arc B580

I am working in premiere pro (lastest version) and trying to figure how CPU, IGPU and DGPU are working together.

Right now I am force to desactivated the IGPU in windows control pannel to access to the DGPU power.   That way Premiere pro is using the B580.  If I reactivate the IGPU, performance on the timeline and encoding drop and I can see that the IGPU kick the B580 from the equation.
I really don't like this solution of inactivating the iGPU but...

I don't know if it's related to latest driver isssue.

I am doing my testing with the same project.
Normaly when I do encoding with IGPU activated, took 70min with IGPU at 100%; processor at 30% and barely used DGPU..

When I desactivated the IGPU, DGPU run around 80%/ processor 30% and take 40min.

Once (at the beginning of my test without inactivating iGPU) I succed to get CPU 90% and DGPU 90% and took 15 min to encode.
But never been able to reproduce this performance...Right now I am kind of throwing the towel about how parts talk to each other...

If anyone have ideas...

Hello Mejnour32,

A graphics processing unit (GPU) is a processor dedicated solely to graphics processing operations. One of the main functions of the GPU is to lighten the load on the central processing unit (CPU), especially when running a graphics intensive game or application. Some desktop computers automatically disable integrated graphics when it detects there is a discrete graphics card. However, you may try this step below.

How To Set the Default GPU for Applications and Games

First, make sure your discrete graphics card is the main source of display

  1. Verify in Device Manager/Display Adapters if Discrete Graphics Card is grayed out. Make sure to enable it in the BIOS settings or video card settings.
  2. Connect the video cable to the Discrete Graphics Card's port instead of the motherboard's back panel.

To set the default GPU for your application or game, you'll need to associate your games with it so your computer will know which GPU to use. (by default the option set is Let Windows decide)

  1. From Start Icon, type "Graphics Settings" and Click the results from System Settings.
  2. Click Desktop App.
  3. Browse your application. If your application is not on the list, you will need to browse for the folder where the .exe file is located.
  4. Clickon the application name/icon.
  5. Click Options.
  6. Set the application to your preferred GPU.
  7. Click save.

Please let me know if these steps work for you.

Best regards,
