Overwatch 2 is my main game and it looks choppy is completely pixelated with constant micro stutters and huge frame rate drops (from 220+ fps down to 60 fps). Theses are all exaggerated if I increase the resolution to 2K or change the in-game graphics to Epic.
I’ve tried multiple fixes suggested online with no resolution:
- Updated BIOS
- Updates drivers
- New windows install
- Played around with multiple settings in game and driver settings
My old computer was a Ryzen 5 5600 with an RX6600XT and I could easily run 2K at 180fps with in-game quality set to Epic.
I’m now running a Ryzen 5 7600X with a B580 and 16GB DDR5 5200 MHz. It’s struggling to run on 1080p, with in-game quality set to Medium. The gaming experience is absolutely awful.
I can’t even launch Sackboy: A Big Adventure without the game crashing instantly due to the following error:
GPU Crashed or DBD Device Removed.
Use -dSddebug to enable the D3D debug device. Check log for GPU state information.
Please help 😔😢

My issues were with Overwatch 2 and Sackboy - not The Last of Us Part 2.
That being said, I’ve managed to resolve the issue and will share the steps for anyone else that may have the same problem.
1. Download the latest GPU driver.
2. Disconnect from the internet, DDU and then install the latest GPU driver.
3. In BIOS, CSM: Disabled.
4. In BIOS, 4G encoding: Enabled/Auto.
5. In BIOS, Resize BAR: Enabled/Auto.
6. In BIOS, ASPM: Enabled.
7. In BIOS, IGPU: Disabled.
For Overwatch 2, in the Video settings tab,
- Dynamic Render Scale: Off
- Render scale: Custom (100)
- Frame rate: Custom (600)
- VSync: Off
- Buffering: Off (all options)
The render scale settings made the most noticeable impact.
