This beta version driver is provided to confirm pending driver code changes that address numerous reported game play issues. A list of issues addressed is contained in the ReleaseNotes. A production version driver will follow in a few weeks, if the beta tests well.
This driver is being provided as a beta test driver, and while it has had limited validation testing by Intel, it is essentially a test driver and is not to be considered a permanent replacement for a fully validated and certified graphics driver. Any issues/comments unrelated to the issues addressed in https://downloadmirror.intel.com/25749/eng/ReleaseNotes_GFX_15%2040%204380_Beta.pdf ReleaseNotes may be deleted without notice.
- Use at your own discretion
While Intel may or may not address issues found in this beta version driver, we do welcome feedback particular to the issues listed in the ReleaseNotes that the driver addresses.
- Please note: this driver is not certified by Microsoft* and will generate a warning when installing.

Tried Potplayer beta and found that MPC-HC performed better. 4k HEVC 10bit finally can be decoded properly with 60-7x % CPU usage as expected.

There is a new version of pot player 64 bit. Using H/W decode cpu is used in 4k HEVC 10bit about 20-30%
Wow it can even decode HVEC 24bit. lol
All you have to do is just set where you see Quicksync64.dll to use it.

Hi Ronin, I tried the latest 347 and 595 with following the instructions given but no luck. MPC is still better choice for my case. In fact, I have tried most players and found that MPC is the best at the moment.

Hi,
I tested some codecs and it seems that's the problem you have. Those codecs interfere with Potplayer and it works only in S/W mode.
I used shark codec pack and when I enabled ffdshow the player was working only in S/W mode. I disabled ffdshow and player is working in H/W mode.

What CPU/GPU do you have?
I see no CPU usage difference between PotPlayer and MPC-HC+LAV for HEVC 4K 10-bit

Hi Grof
SKL support of Vulkan is not official either, it was added to this Beta for developers to test with. Due to HW limitations it will not be added to HSW. Supporting Vulkan API in SKL production drivers is still undetermined as of yet.

Hi,
Why I still cannot install this update for my laptop (Dell Inspiron 5559, Windows 10 x64)?
I got this error: http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/graphics-drivers/000005469.html Error Message: Computer Manufacturer Graphics Driver Detected
When Dell will add this update also in their support page?
Thanks.

The driver is not very stable yet. As you see people still have problems with it.
If you want to install this driver, uninstall the one that is installed on your pc at the moment and install this one.
Ypu may loose some features of your laptop if they customized the input output connectors.

If it's a hardware bug that was reported two times in the community boards, Intel should be interested in identifying it's cause.

If it's a hardware bug is not a general bug. My cpu works in windows and also in linux... and the other person I remember it has problem because he wants to run windows 7 instead of windows 10 (which is the os that his laptop came with and is working without the problems he has on win 7)

Well, the manufacturer of the laptop should provide the right drivers for it, if he doesn't I would return it. It's his fault if he made a laptop with 2 video cards that don't work together.

Hi,
I discovered that it it may be a problem with 32 bit dlls in video driver. After I enabled 64-bit processes for Protected mode in Internet Explorer 11 Advanced options. I was able to scroll down on facebook till the last post (filled memory till 6.5GB), without any error.
So please check the 32 bit dlls for possible errors/problems.
Thank You!

When can I expect the next driver release? I'm experiencing graphic driver recoveries while using OpenGL hardware acceleration in general. Sometimes they mess up the whole window rendering in Windows 10, resulting in rectangles with crossed lines.
