Black Sceen Intel® Iris® Xe Graphics

My Lenovo ThinkBook 15G2 ITL with Intel® Iris® Xe Graphics experiences a black screen after booting on Windows 11. I have to force a shutdown by holding the power button. However, after booting into Safe Mode and disabling the graphics driver, the laptop starts working again. I have tried different driver versions, but the issue persists. The current driver version is 31.0.101.4502 (dated 06/15/2023). How can I permanently resolve this issue?

I would like to know more about your system details to fully understand where the issue truly lies. Please confirm if this is the actual system device that you have: Lenovo ThinkBook 15 Gen 2 (Intel) | Business Laptop

 

 

Please also share the missing keys below:

1) Is this an out-of-the-box issue or has the issue started just recently?

2) If the issue started just recently, what changes has been made before the issue started?

3) Have you tried installing the latest driver from your system manufacturer's driver download page (version 30.0.101.1960)? *It's best to perform clean installation of the graphics driver.

 

If the latest OEM driver does not work, please help share your system configuration so I we can fully check and provide you with an accurate fix. This could be possible by downloading the Intel® System Support Utility for Windows* software. When the download is complete, launch SSU.exe.

  • Scan: Check the box Everything.
  • Click Scan.
  • Review: When finished scanning, click Next.
  • Click Save (.txt)

Hello Gangesh,

 

Please proceed with installing the latest driver from your system manufacturer's driver download page (version 30.0.101.1960) by using the Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) to Uninstall an Intel® Graphics Driver.
