Add me to the list of people who get a black screen....
HP G60t-200CTO
Windows 7 64 bit.
I uninstalled the previous intel driver (8.15.10.1986) and installed 8.15.10.2086.. and got a black screan... grrr... Other older intel drivers have worked just fine so I don't agree that it's a special vendor bios issue.

I am pleased that someone is taking this matter seriously at Intel.

We have posted a driver that resolves this issue on the Intel Download Center. At this time only the "zip" format driver is available. The self installing "exe" version should be available very soon.
This driver provides a work around for an issue found with the EDID on specific LCD panels commononly used on mobile systems and rarely, desktop displays.
I would like to thank everyone participating in this discussion for their patience and feedback.
The driver can be found at the following links:

Yes, it works, thx.
I noticed some zip files inside that look like BiOS for the video, but I couldn't run them inside Win7.
Is new video BiOS something I should try to install as well? (maybe by booting into DOS?)

The "zip" file is usually targeted for developers. The VBIOS files are for their use and will not load or install as standalone binaries. They require BIOS merge tools to merge with BIOS.

Hey Robert, The update works but everytime I log on the windows 7 os asks me to either run or cancel the following:
igfxtray.exe
hkcmd.exe
igfxpers.exe
gfxUI.exe
Also when I click graphics properties. What should I do about this to fix it please?
Thanks.

There should be a check box in the approval dialogs not to ask everytime Windows starts.

Hey Robert,
awesome news!! Can you give any kind of ETA for when a version with an installer might arrive? I'm going to wait for that.
Thanks again,

Hey Robert,
I tried the 64 bit Windows 7 selfinstaller. I got an error at first that it couldn't set something up... so I uninstalled the old driver first and then install went great. It WORKS!! WOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! Can we expect all future releases of the Intel driver to include these fixes?
I appreciate all your help in this matter.. and thanks also to all the people who sent in system info to help Robert track down the issue.

Robert,
It appears they have two seperate driver versions to download. The one your link points to and one that is another version. Here is the other version. http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=19132&lang=eng http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=19132&lang=eng

You are correct. In Download Center we post the latest or current version and one revision previously released. This is for those who need to roll back to a previous version of the driver.
