Hey, I'm running Win10, 64bit on my Yoga Thinkpad S1 (Yoga Laptop (ThinkPad) - Type 20CD - Model 20CD00B1US).
It has Intel HD Graphics 4400 processor and Mini HDMI port.
I want to buy a 5120x1440 display (Samsung C49RG90).
Can I connect my laptop to this screen and get the native resolution of 5120x1440?

Note: The max resolution of Intel HD 4400 is said to be: Maximum HDMI Resolution 4096x2160 This is *higher* in pixel count to my goal resolution of 5120x1440.

Please run the following tool and attach the report generated:
- Intel® System Support Utility (Intel® SSU)
- Intel® SSU Download link
- Open the application and click on "Scan" to see the system and device information. By default, Intel® SSU will take you to the "Summary View".
- Click on the menu where it says "Summary" to change to "Detailed View".
- To save your scan, click on "Next", then "Save".

Upon checking the Intel® System Support Utility scan results, I can see that your computer has an Intel® Core™ i7-4600U Processor.
Based on our official website the max resolutions supported for this processor and graphics are:
Intel® Core™ i7-4600U Processor ---> Processor Graphics
- HDMI 1.4: 3200x2000@60Hz
- DP: 3200x2000@60Hz

In this case would it be possible that I can see the picture on the 5120x1440 screen with *52Hz* ?
Because 52Hz is what we get when dividing 3200x2000x60 by 5120x1440.

Regarding your question, it's worth mentioning that based on your chipset, monitor capabilities, and manufacturer configurations, your maximum supported resolution can vary.
It's important to take into consideration that there could be some limitations on the ports that might not allow the max resolution supported by the processor and graphics.
In order to set up the resolution, you are looking for you will need the following bandwidth based on established industry standards:
This is calculated with Bandwidth Calculator ''kramer''
3200x2000 @60 = 11.52 Gbps
5120x1440 @60 = 13.27 Gbps
5120x1440 @50 = 11.06 Gbps
Bandwidth limitations for different video outputs.
HDMI 1.4: 8 Gbps
HDMI 2.0: 14.4 Gbps
DP 1.2: 17.28 Gbps
Now, I found the following information about your computer from Lenovo Official website where says that: ''Support external digital monitor via mini HDMI supports dual independent monitor; Max external resolution: 1920x1200 (Mini HDMI @60Hz). Based on this official document, this is what is support on their systems. I will recommend you to double-check with Lenovo* regarding the resolutions supported on their systems.

I suppose I will take a chance and buy the monitor. The point being that the limitations on Lenovo website you linked are provably false. I am currently writing my comment with this laptop connected to a 2560x1080@60Hz display!
In the worse case I think I will use 30Hz instead of 60Hz, which is not that bad either.

Guys, just got my new 5120x1440 screen and it's working fabulously on my oldish laptop with HDMI 1.4 and Intel graphic processor HD 4400.
Haha, and Lenovo says the max external resolution is 1920x1200 ... funny!
On the other hand I do think I'm working with 30Hz; but I don't mind this.
